If you have the part, you need a soldering iron, solder wick and solder. Apply heat with the iron to the lugs on the input that protrude through the circuit board, and apply solder wick to desolder the bad part - do this for all the contacts. Remove the bad connector, place the new one and heat the lugs one at a time, once the iron has been on the lug for several seconds, apply the solder to the lug and hold for a second or two. When the solder melts and flows remove the iron and the solder. Allow it to cool - repeat for all the lugs. A good solder joint is shiny. A bad one is dull, and that is called a cold solder joint. If you get a bad one, just heat it back up and wick the solder away and start over.

SOURCE: not able to connect to USB MIDI of my Casio CTK 810i

On reading specs, use of the USB is NOT supported on a MAC or on other than the 32 bit version of Vista. If you happen to have the 64 bit Vista, it won't work. All the other versions of Windows seem to be supported..

SOMETIMES one must install the software BEFORE connecting the USB cable to the unit. SOMETIMES one must install the drivers in SAFE MODE. These things are ridiculous, but some of the quirks of Windows are stupid.

SOURCE: casio ctk 700 Fl studio 8 connectivity

Fruity Loops version 4 requires Windows up to version XP.

If you happen to have Vista on your PC, you should probably retrofit to XP as there are MANY compatibility problems with Vista and a lot of the special purpose software.

First thing is to COMPARE the PC requirements against what Fruity Loops says it requires.

SOURCE: Casio CTK 810 with Windows 7

Hello,

You need a midi to usb interface, otherwise it is quite simple. I personally have an M-Audio interface that plugs into my midi out and plugs into your usb port on your computer. Once done, you can create a profile in Reason for your CTK. Windows 7 will notice the M-Audio device and then you will be able to use midi. You may have to install a specific driver for the particular M-AUdio device (or another midi to usb interface) but that is simple. You do not have to worry about a driver for the keyboard.

In my experience, M-Audio makes about the best midi/usb interface, and they come in all popular configurations. I use a very small 1-to-1 interface, though there are multi port interfaces one can buy. I purchased mine on eBay, though you can find them at Guitar Center if you have one in your City, or alternately Musiciansfriend.com web site. Many online stores sell them though. You amy want to use Amazon or a price comparison web site to find your best deal.

Thank you for using FixYa, and good luck.

SOURCE: Casio Ctk 496 Electronic Keyboard with 61 Keys, drivers needed

Try uninstalling and reinstalling both the keyboard and the game. If that doesn't work then the keyboard may not be compatible with the software.

LOOKING FOR A MANUAL

Most Casio keyboard manuals are available from their support page: http://support.casio.com/en/manual/manual.php?cid=008&MODULE= . Here you will need to accept the Casio terms of use. Then scroll down to the correct model. The direct link to the User's Guide is currently http://support.casio.com/en/manual/008/CTK4000_5000_EN.pdf . Casio also has an appendix and documentation on the MIDI standard on the Manuals page for the CTK-5000.

I hope this helps.

What do I need to do with my Casio CTK 700 which will make it run on batteries?

If you turn it over, you will see the battery compartment. It runs on 6 AA batteries. Here's a link to the manual. Instructions are on page 13.

Keyboard wont play with ac adaptor

Hi, Assuming you have tested with another adaptor then invariably it is a broken solder joint on the power input connector.
Re soldering will work but eventually the same thing occurs.
Set the connector in epoxy resin (Araldite) or better still mount a new connector in the case and wire with flying leads.
All the best, Chris the Fader.

I have a Casio CTK 551 Keyboard, when the AC adaptor is connected and power is turned on, the Keyboard lights up for a few seconds then turns off. I noticed no red light lights up when the AC adaptor is...

The adapter has a problem... likely a poor connection of input power that briefly contacts building up some voltage that is then stored in the capacitors in the adapter which then discharge quicklly when you turn on the Casio. The adapters with FIXED blades OFTEN have problems contacting the connections in wall receptacles and extension cords. You may need to bend the blades slightly or use a better receptacle like connector. IF your adapter has a three wire cord from it to the wall receptacle, those SOMETIMES don't seat well...

My Casio keyboard won't play with the ac adapter but plays when I install batteries. Why doesn't the ac adapter work?

Test the continuity of your Adapter (input and output), if it fails your test replace it with the same output voltage requirement's and watch the polarity as well (negative ground mostly or positive ground).

Casio CTK-651 keyboard wont switch on

An internal fuse is UNLIKELY.

More likely is either a bad connection/connector at power input or a bad or intermittent power switch.
