Error code 020000= flash/flash charging test failed...the IR array or the day/night sensor is bad...I get my parts from other defect cameras...Moultrie charges $25+ S&H to tell you to buy new camera.
Error code 000480="cam mod test/comm error...it is not communicating with SD card...may be bad main board ...get my parts from other defective cameras...Moultrie will tell you to buy new camera.
The ir gets power thru capacitors and inductors on main board.;check for loose connections, broker leeds; may have to replace ir array or main board to fix.Forget Moultrie having spares; try to buy used on as is from eBay.
ERROR CODE 000480 ? If this is correct,it relates to: Camera Mod test failed;(4); and under Memory Test, 8= Comms Error.New batteries(good ones) may fix it... It' not communicating with memory card..ck it's inserted good..press down until it stays down(press again and it will pop up. Follow instructions on deleting internal memory before installing SDcard. Also, make sure cam supports kind of card you're using..at 4gb and larger, they become confusing;i.e., 4/8/16mb...older cams won't support some of these. Also there are HC(high capacity); HD(high definition)don't work in these cams.. I posted this for a fix a few days ago, and it turned out to be brand new bad batteries.
Forget calling Moultrie...I think their answering system is permantly set for "off-hour" times...you may have to e-mail them several times be fore (after4-5 days they get back to you. You're error should read error"0200000"...flash error or flash charging...getting this during system diagnosis probably is that you failed to cover sensor during ck. I f this is a constant error...turn cam on; remove batteries; turn system off; insert batteries and try again. .
I just spoke to the moultrie techy about the same error message I have with my i40, This is a false positive message, the i40 uses infra red instead of a flash; the self test is testing for flash and giving the false error. This was an oversight by Moultrie, no down-loadable patches are available to correct this at this time
