What colors on electrical cord go with what screw on dryer?

The green is ground and usually connects to the metal side of the dryer.
The white is neutral and connects to the white center post. The black and red on the cord are both 110vt hot lines and connect to the posts on each end. So black to black and red to black/brown should be ok.

Cut the cord. what is the color code of the wires? I have a green, black and a white wire.

Hello, black is the line or "hot" wire. White is the neutral and green is the ground wire.. On the cord end the black goes to the smaller of the two parallel blades and the white to the larger. The green goes to the one that is more round, the ground.

Need wiring schematics for Haier HWR12XC5 AC

My friend ... you are doing a simple repair ... you don't need a wiring schematic to replace this power cord. When you get the unit open ... you will find the other end of the ripped cord ... black goes to black, white goes to white green goes to green or ground. In fact ... you will trim the end of the cord and reattach it using either crimp connectors or wire nuts.

If you are installing a new power cord on a whirlpool dryer and you have a power cord with one green wire one black wire one white wire and one red wire where do you connect the wires when the terminals on...

Good day,
The green is screwed to any convenient place on the cabinet. It's a safety ground wire.
The white goes in the middle of the block. The red and black go on either end. Doesn't matter which.

Where can I BUY THE cords at.

I've never seen the ad for a weed thrasher but, as far as a replacement cord goes. You can buy a extension cord of the same size and install it. Just cut off the end. The wires within the cord need to be the same size or bigger, never smaller. Also it's important to replace a 3 wire cord with a 3 wire cord. You can use a 3 wire cord with a machine that came with a 2 wire cord, just cut off the green wire at the machine end. Your wire colors should be white, black, and green. Black and white are your power wires and green is your ground. Usually black and white are interchangeable but, on occasion switching them may make the unit run backwards so install them in their original position. Write down where they where hooked up and install your new cord in the same places.

I had to change the three prong wire and replace with four prong

If you are converting from 3 to 4 prong service, that is fairly simple and should be done as follows:
If you purchased a pre-terminated cord that has a molded plug on one end and four wires with lugs on the other then that is what you have to attach to your dryer. Start by pulling the dryer out far enough to gain easy access to the back panel. Depending on the model, you will need to find the place where the cord feeds through the back and feed the new wire through that opening ( there should be some kind of cable clamp that guides and clamps that cable through the back panel). Once fed through, look for the terminal block on the back of your dryer. You will have at least 3 terminals that should be color coded red, black white or green) Start by installing the red to red, black to black and white to white ( or green) and then take the green wire end of the cord and look for a ground stud on the back of the dryer. There should be a terminal or sheet metal screw that you can attach that green wire to the dryer. The green wire is a safety ground that bonds the dryer to earth ground and provides a path to ground through the dryer chassis should you develop a short top ground. That path is provided to protect you so that you don't become the path from power to ground. Hope that helps...
Just remember to do all this wiring with the cord unplugged from the power source...
Regards,
Rick

Hooking up the four prong cord to the dryer

this is the rule of thumb, white always goes on the middle terminal ,the 2 outside terminal wires it does not matter which side they are on,if you can see the red and black wire on the terminal block then match them up,the green wire gets mounted to the cabinet, you should already have a green wire to the cabinet so remove the screw and put both wires there and your done, let me know how you do-mike
