Disassemble battery back up dont buy new one or all these other battery sales men tell you and replace the 40 amp fuse you blew upon hooking upt the battery under load i.e. unplug everything groung terminals to outlet/plug a load in to discharge all capacitors and hook new battery up. plug back intoo wall add load and voli you fixed your very first electronic device now you can fix anything!!!! hahahah
The battery for this unit is an APC# $^ (RBC46)
Also known as a UB-1280 (12 volts 8.0 AH- amp-hour)
Did you add a greater load ... like a small "heater"?
Remove most of the plugs for what is plugged into it and try again.
If you have a "printer" plugged into it, unplug it, from the "protected" side. It belongs on the "surge" side of the APC Battery backup.
Hope this helps!
