Look to see were it starts to do that and there could be a little burr and file it off to make it all the same . also if its a heated seal that part were it doesnt seal could be burnt out as sometimes only some part of an element burns out. im not to sure how to test it but to take it out generally most appliances these days are a pain because of were they put the screws and they have really made the heads different so they can sell you more speciality screw drivers. most appliances you start by taking the bottom off and go from there. patience which i have little will help.

Take apart and see if wires are connected That is what was wrong w/ mine. Soldered wire now works fine.
