Look to see were it starts to do that and there could be a little burr and file it off to make it all the same . also if its a heated seal that part were it doesnt seal could be burnt out as sometimes only some part of an element burns out. im not to sure how to test it but to take it out generally most appliances these days are a pain because of were they put the screws and they have really made the heads different so they can sell you more speciality screw drivers. most appliances you start by taking the bottom off and go from there. patience which i have little will help.

Take apart and see if wires are connected That is what was wrong w/ mine. Soldered wire now works fine.

Gadgets vs107 top and bottom rival seal a meal

ind helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Seal-A-Meal VS107 ... Also, you don't have to search for Rival bags..any 5-mil vacuum seal bag will ... Two things, you have to get the top of the bag straight and flat for it to make the seal. ... I checked out lots of different brands before deciding to buy this lower cost model.

The small white clip that keeps the nozzle cage dowmn is broken. Can i get it replaced?

Mine broke too.. I contacted Seal-a-meal, and for my machine, they don't make replacement parts anymore. BUT, here's what I did and it works great. I place a chopstick across the length of the lock and seal nozzle...I use a little scotch-tape to hold it in place.. When you shut the lid, it applies enough pressure to the nozzle, to start pulling air out of the bags. I do have to lean or push down hard on the lid, to get it to lock into place, before sealing, but the chopstick works wonderful...I am not going to buy a whole new seal-a-meal when this works so terrific. In fact, I just seal-a-mealed 8 bags of beans this afternoon. Try it before you go out and buy another machine.
