First, make sure the cables are properly connected, if using xDSL modem, it must be connected to the WAN port, the pc on the ethernet ports (any of the 4 ports available).
Second, check your current IP Address (default 192.168.1.x), then ping from your pc the ip address of the router (default 192.168.1.1). If OK, then your LAN connection works fine.
Third, ping any internet site, i.e. ping www.yahoo.com. if a reply response is received, your internet connection is now working.
If not, reset the router then do the initial set up from the router web page. Go to IE or mozilla browser, type http://192.168.1.1 (default ip add of router), the password or username is admin (default - refer to your manual). If already inside the page, go to the setup folder then proceed to configure the router. After all the configuration, check your internet connection, go to any web site.
