Error number 2 appears on Hoover AAA whisper 1400 washing machine - any help? When it appears which is becoming more regular that it use to be I usually end up putting the washing through a quick spin, then twisting the cap at the bottom front of the machine to empty the drum of water!

I downloaded the manual from Hoover website. Error number 2 relates to the washing machine not filling up with enough water. Check the water supply and correct angle of the pipe.

Possible that the control panel is short and so is tripping the fuse. Remove the connection to the panel and check if there is short , also remove the motor and check and this can confirm the case.
On the front bottom of the machine there is a plastic 'kick plate' that clips/pushes on. Remove this plate and you will see the filter with a cover secured by a star/phillips screw. Loosen screw and twist this cover off to gain acess. Don't do what i've just done and twist without removing this screw as it breaks it:-(

the error mean an problem by the temperatur sensor of the water. It is possible an defect of the sensor or cable between the sensor and the microcontroller or the controller self.
