Connect the monitor to pc and press the power button to make it to the power on mode. you must have used your keyboard to make it on sleep mode.

Plug in the monitor and it comes on momentarily but then cuts out to blank screen.I got this given to me and am just trying to see if Ican use it with my hp system thanks.

Hi. If the display goes out after displaying the Power On Self-Test (POS) and the power indicator turns amber, it means that the display resolution of your computer is higher than what SyncMaster 192S can handle.

If you still have the monitor that you were using before, connect that one and change screen resolution to 800x600 and 60 Hertz. Turn off your computer then change monitor/LCD and turn on your computer. You may change screen resolution to optimize display on your SyncMaster 193S.

Let me know if you need help changing screen resolution or if you don't have the original monitor that you were using on your HP.

I think I might have fried my Samsung SyncMaster 191T, by plugging/unplugging a dvi cable while the power was on (on both the computer and the monitor). Right now, when I enable the display using the...

Unlikely unless you discharged a large static shock into the connector as you were doing this. I have never seen a monitor or computer video port damaged by connecting the cable while power is on.

Try unplugging the power cable to the monitor for 10min or more and then reconnect and see if it starts to work.

Screen will not come on hard drive light no light checked power supply is ok

Things to check:
  1. Power led on the front of the tower, it should be solid green when on. Flashing Amber is generally an indication of a bad power supply inside the tower
  2. Power LED Solid AMBER indicates system is not finishing the power on self test (POST) and you remove all connections from the tower except power and try turning on again. If no change, remove all PCI and PCI-E cards from system, try again, no change replace motherboard.
  3. On the back of the tower are 4 diagnostic LEDs near the ps2 ports marked ABCD, after the POST, during a normal boot the will flash in several sequences and with boot is finished all 4 should be green. If they stop an a different pattern, then that indicates a failure Yellow Yellow Green Green indicate bad RAM for example
  4. If the LEDs on front and back are Green then the system appears to be booting but the monitor display is not functional

Blinking power button

It could also be because there is a problem with the display controller in the computer. Try to hook up another monitor to this computer and see if it comes up. If it does not work with another monitor, the computer will need servicing. If the display does come up, the Samsung monitor will need service. Good Luck
