Iphone wont charge

My iphone 3G wont charge... just shows the battery icon with minimal red indicator when charging

  • Longtime User May 11, 2010

Your iphone came with a wall charger and a usb cable to connect to PC, which also charges phone. Have you tried both? With wall charger, what if you put a lamp on the wall socket, does it shine? If so, your wall charger may need replacing. What results do you get, trying these out?

Iphone 3gs wont charge shows the battery with small red line but can stay like that for days, bought new charger but still the same...cant get apple sign to come up at all...at first I could and phone...

The battery is probably dead. You can locate a repair service who will replace it for you for under $50, or you could do it yourself, it's not very difficult. You can easily find detailed instructions on the web, and the replacement battery costs about $5 on ebay.I found good instructions here, that will give you an idea of whether you want to undertake the repair yourself.

My iphone wont charge it shows minial red line starts after 2seconds but wont charge and switch off again

You need to let it sit like that for 20-30 minutes before trying anything. The battery needs a minimum charge before it will start. If the battery gets too low, it will show the "minimal red line."
After 20-30 minutes, it should be able to start up again.

My iphone wont charge from the computer or my wall charger

If you are using the same cable connected to the mains and the PC then it would indicate that you have a faulty USB cable, especially since it charges in the car.

Apple iphone wont register a charge, resets dont work

It's not booting up. hook it to the computer and see if iTunes sees it when you bring it up holding home and power for 6 secs. then releasing power and hold home longer. Restore it when itunes sees it and it should work again.

Shows fully charged (plug icon), but isn't taking a charge. A;ready tried reboot/restore.

Get a can of air and blow it into the 30-pin connector and headphone jack to clear the phone of dust and build-up. This should clear up the problem. I learned this from an Apple Store Genius Bar associate.
