My logitech headset speakers works great, but the mic doesn't work in any program. I've turned up the volume, it's not muted, I've done the mic test and nothing comes through. It's a 2 prong, not usb. It's plugged in right, nothing loose. Only device available to select in audio in or out menu is Conexant HD audio. PLEASE help.
If you are running Vista, make sure that you set your mic as the default. Then check on vent settings and make sure that your output setting are set for your head set. You can then test your headset inside of the settings tab.

You do not say what sort of mic you have - if its a built in laptop mic, a standalone mic or one built into the webcam. It would also be useful to know what your OS is and what chat program you want to use the mic in However we can generalise and hopefully put you on the right track
