SOURCE: Whirlpool AWO/D 4505 Washing Machine

Unplug your machine and unclip the plastic trim panel across the bottom of the machine (front) to reveal the circular pump filter cover. Unscrew this cover with your fingers and remove any debris inside. Put the cover back on, clip the panel back on and try your machine again. Should be fine.

SOURCE: WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE AWO/D 5716 - CANNOT LOCATE PUMP

Remove the bottom casing covering the front of the machine just above the floor. Unscrew the circular cap SLOWLY- beware of vast amounts of water escaping though!
I had to use a low height roasting pan to catch water, and just unscrew the cap enough so as to control the flow of water, and enable to empty water away until its all gone. Incidentally, an old hairgrip was found to be the cause of my problem.
Confusingly, "clean pump" meant clean filter!

SOURCE: Whirlpool AWO/D 4605 Clean Pump light on, how do I

Remove bottom plastic panel across the front of machine- it just clips off (use a small screwdriver or bread knife to prise off). You will now see a round filter behind this panel- unscrew anticlockwise to remove- this is the filter. Sometimes filter can be hard to remove if you have things jammed in it- give it bit of a jiggle and it should come out without forcing it. Remember- if there is still water in the machine, this water will come out on the floor once you remove the filter- put down some towels!! Happy fixing!!

SOURCE: front loading whirlpool machine WFS1072AW which needs pump clean

WFS1072AW has a clip in panel at the bottom across the front.
Removing this will reveal a black plug on the right.
Unscrew this and water will gush out along with (hopefully) the offending coins.

You might have a loose connection to the pump or from the pump to the CCU Remove the top of the washer and make sure that the wire coming from the pump to the CCU is fully in and it's not loose

But if you follow the outlet hose back into the machine it will lead you to the pump and the other hose coming off the pump will go to the sump/filter. It is then just a case of removing the hoses and cleaning out any blockage from inside. Be sure to turn off the power and empty the tub of as much water as possible first or you will end up with a soaked floor, it will also be an advantage if you can tilt the machine away from the pump before removing any hoses. (If the pump is at the rear of the machine tilt it forward and place a shallow bowl or dish under it to catch any water. Keep the machine tilted by putting a tin of soup or something under it. If it is at the front then tilt it backwards.)
