You need a laptop IDE hard disk.

It is software loading related. It could be you need to reload the machine firmware, replace the hard drive or the RAM.

Most likely this is a hard drive failure. This is especially likely if your machine has the network print and or the document server and fax options installed.
If you let it sit with "Please Wait" long enough does it ever come up with the wrench light or service code?

try puting the hard drive in the frezer for 2 to 3 hr and you might be able to get the info off the drive hook it up as a slave hard drive. you should have the restor disk for the new drive, you can go to acer on line to get the drivers you need. hope thats helps. bobg22

Nope, it's just a matter of pulling the old hard drive and putting in the new one. Sometimes there will be an adapter attached to your old drive that you'll have to transfer over to the new one. What you need is a 2.5" mobile PATA (IDE) drive.

Fuser error (warm up error). Needs to be repaired, then the code can only be reset in service mode.

Open the front door and close it and check if the display reads loading toner. Try this for 3 times.
If Add toner indicator is still there, check that you had removed the black cap of the toner, before you replaced the toner bottle.
Remove the bottle from the holder and check inside the neck of the holder if there is something blocking the toner supply. (sometimes the inner plastic cap of the previous toner is stucked in the neck).
Check and clean the toner bottle holder unit.
Another problem can be worn gears in the lower development unit and within the dev. bias roller.

if in win XP
when the setup is loading driver it's will ask for SATA/RAID driver
you must press F6 then insert your SATA driver with USB floppy drive
or install XP with something like unattended installer with SATA driver included

or if it's shown in BIOS
probably your harddrive is broken
and you must replace it
or claim your warranty
