The thermostat on my Debige 2440 SS gas oven does not work. It heats to 425 degrees no matter where the dial is set. What do I need to replace/repair?

SOURCE: Oven heating problems

I'm afraid you might need a new thermostat. The only other thing you might check is to make sure that your 'vent' is not blocked with a pan or tea kettle etc., but I'm pretty sure it is a thermostat.

SOURCE: DeLonghi Debige 2440 Electric/Gas Double Oven Fan Failure Light

I had the very same problem. I slid the oven out of the wall about 6" or so, unplugged it, plugged it back in. It worked. I'm not sure if I jostled some connection, or if unplugging/repluging it in reset some sort of circuit fault.

SOURCE: New replacement thermostat needs calibrating on my Kenmore oven

There is no real way to calibrate the thermostat. Most ovens have the same problem. By lowering the setting slightly will help get a closer temperature. Sometimes similar thermostats are substituted and may not be exactly the same as the original that came with your oven. Hope my trying to answer your question was helpful, Thanks, Sea breeze

SOURCE: My Whirlpool oven no longer heats to the set temperature.

Try to locate the thermostat sensor in the oven. It will be long about 5 inches, thin and cylindrical with a very thin wire coming from it. It should be bright and shiny. If it isn't buy some paint on oven cleaner from Lakeland and carefully remove the dirt. It may take a couple of goes. The sensor wire can be brittle so treat it with respect. Lakeland also do an oven temperature guage at a reasonable price if you need to check the temperature.

The thermostat is the cause of the problem, normally the the only cure is to replace the oven thermostat, completely, or alternatively, compensate by setting a lower temperature when cooking.
this will work o/k if it is always the same variation in temperature across the range .

The fan works but oven does not heat up

If the fan is working o/k, and it it is an electric oven, then the oven element has probably failed.

It is usually located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.
Hopew this helps you.

Amana oven doesn't heat

IS it gas or electric? If it's gas, you may need to have a technician regulate the air and gas. If it's electric your t-stat may need to be replaced. Hope this helps! :>)!

Cooker

I just installed one in my house. I found that when you start the lower (gas) oven you need to turn the dial all the way on to 500*, push the knob in (you should hear the igniters clicking), then even when you see flames coming out of the burner, continue the ignition for 10 to 15 seconds. It should continue to stay lit thereafter.

Delonghi range oven

Bake- Normal convection- both upper and lower heating elements.

Conv. Bake- Semi-forced convection- both upper and lower elements, heat is then distributed throughout the oven via the fan.

Broil- radiation- The heat is radiated by the ifrared broil element.

Broil & Fan- Radiation and Ventilation- The radiated heat from the infra-red broiling element is distributed throughout the oven via the fan.

Re:Electric Convection oven does not heat up. Convection fan works, light works.

It is probably and electrical service issue. If this is a North American unit, it uses two electrical circuits to provide power. You must find and reset the breakers and check that the wiring is operating as intended. Less likely: It could also be a manufacturing defect. DeLonghi uses screw compression connections on some products. Sometimes, they don't work well.
