If there is no phono input on your home theatre amp, plug the turntable into the auxillary sockets and not the sat/tv/cd input as it wont work properly in that socket. if after putting the turntable into the auxillary socket it is still too quiet then you should purchase a specially made small pre-amp booster amplifier designed for turntables to inprove the signal to noise ratio from a reputable hi-fi shop/dealer. good luck

Can I connect a turntable to my Phillips LX900R system?

Assuming that the turntable has RCA audio output jacks, then yes you can. Just run the 2 channel RCA cable from the Output of the turntable to one of the AUDIO IN plugs on the back of the Philliips unit. Note which input you used and select it via the remote or on the front of the unit itself.

I need help with volume and popping and cracking in the speakers. It's a new system and it's only plugged into my record player.

You are most likely going to need a preamp to go between your home theater and record player. The popping and hissing is usually a grounding issue. You will have to ground your system properly to get rid of this.

How do I connect and hear a technics SLB210 turntable to a DV250 sound system

The signal output from the turntable is very low and needs a special input which most modern sound systems no longer have.
You will need to connect your turntable to a preamplifier.
The output from this preamplifier then goes to the auxiliary input ("AUX") of your sound system.
A good starting page to look around for a turntable preamplifier is here:

Good luck!

You only have a USB connection. Traditional turntables cannot be simply connected. Get a USB turntable and you are all set.

Sadly, it is only a Home Theater System. It is not a Audio/Video Receiver. The only possible way to get around this is to buy a converter to hook into your RCA turntable to the ASC IN Jack in the front lower left corner as you are looking at it! Sorry, I hope this will help you...
