Anna. I am the King of 'fixit' rather than replace it. BUT PLEASE Don't even try. Pressure cookers have the potential to EXPLODE. First hand knowledge...my uncle was severely burned when his cooker exploded. If you try to 'fix it' and mess up, you, your family, friends my be spending time in the burn unit of the closest hospital. To replace a riveted handle requires the rivet to be drilled out....too easy to mess up and 'nick' the cooker causing a weak point. Don't do it. Take some Christmas money and buy a new one. Roger
