I have a 42 inch astar flat screen
Things to try:
1 look for a remote stuck in a couch(or other near place) that is barely peaking out enough to change the channel.
2. Check that the channel up or down button is not stuck on the tv and or any remote that is set up for it.
3. Find the tv's infrared sensor and cover it with your hand or tape. If the channel changing stops then something is emitting infrared that is causing it to channel hop (occasionally security systems can cause this to happen) also some kids toys. Anything that emits infrared light basically.
once you have found the source (neighbor with the same brand tv for example) or a remote with the cushion pressing the button for you. then you will should be good.
