The part throttle is actuated by the choke pull, the choke shaft on the carb has a white plastic arm that contacts and locks the throttle shaft, the arm is sprung loaded so when the trigger is pressed the arm jumps off, so you need to look at the arm, as it is plastic it can wear and then not engage with the throttle shaft.
There's clearly a problem with the choke lever and or carb end interior, cleaning might solve the problem if not I'll replace the carb, thanks for your input

When you say re adjust back to basic settings, are they actually vibratinh out? it maybe the springs have become weak and allowing them to move due to the vibration of the saw.

You need to disassemble the carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. If you need tips on how to do this, just let me know. You may need a new carb. kit as well, but we won't know that until you first perform the first step, or if the carb. parts are more than 3 years old. If they are, then go ahead and buy the carb. kit and replace the parts.

Before you take it a part adjust the fuel air mixture most of these small engines are air 1 1/4 and fuel 1 turn get it to ideal just before the foot spins ( let the engine warm up good and have fresh fuel before doing these adjustments) afer a good ideal adjust the mixture for a full no bogging speed . If this does not work then start to work on the carb.
