That means that power is being applied to the drain pump when it shouldn't be. There is only one reason for that, a fault in the main control board. You will have to replace the main board.

check the lid switch under the lower board they rust and the fault is normally not starting,or the display board can rust inside near the start/pause button if so try and unsolder a button you dont use and replace the start button.

Sounds like your pump is blocked. **UNPLUG the machine**. lift or drag the machine to a spot where you can let the water dump out. The water comes out fast and makes a big mess. Tilt the machine back. On the front-right underside of the machine you will see the pump with the fan hanging down. Unplug the white plug and the earth cable from the back of the pump. You might notice that there is a white plastic clip that you can move to the side. Hold the clip out and twist the pump clockwise. At this point the pump will drop out and water will go everywhere. Try and take the pump out kinda fast so that the coil does not get too wet while the water is dropping out. you might find a blockage (coil, hair clip, underwire etc) sticking out from where the pump impeller sits. Pull out your blockage and check that the pump spins freely when you spin it by hand. If it does not spin freely you need a new pump.

Now, after you unblock your pump, you can put it back together the same way you took it off. Make sure the white plug is not wet before plugging it into the pump and make sure the pump coil is dry too! use a blowdryer to dry for a minute if unsure. When twisting the pump back in, the wires should be at the back of the machine and the earth cable is kinda close to the rotor (motor). Make sure the pump is sitting flat so the seal works too. That clip should click lock back into place to hold the pump from turning. The washer will not spin until all the water is out in case you are wondering. Hope this helps!

The first thing to do is to check if the water valve is good - probably burnt /stuck open.

SOURCE: How to I get to the pump on my Fisher & Paykel

If machine has water in it, bucket out as much as you can.

To access pump:
-Pull machine forward and lean it backwards so you can access under machine.
-On the front right hand side, you will see a fan blade- this is the drain pump. This fan blade should spin freely if you turn it by hand.
-To remove pump: remove plug connection that has 2 wires. Remove other plug connection that has 1 wire. On the top of the pump assembly, you will see a white plastic tag, about a 40mm long horizontally across the pump- gently pull tag towards you, and turn complete pump unit anti clockwise- whole pump will drop out (don't force it, it should come out easily) *Note* if there is water in machine still, it will come out when you remove pump assembly- be ready with some towels!!
-Check pump impellor(blade on other end of pump) is free from obstruction, and turns easily. Check with your finger to see if there is any obstruction in the hole where the pump has come out of (inside bowl).
-You can test pump with an ohm meter (should be approx 37ohms from memory)
Reassemble and test for leaks etc

Hey again. I wasn't for sure if you saw my last post but I wrote you a detailed post on what to check on your other post. Check your water pump inside the washer. Make sure it is working and make sure it is not all clogged up. Check your drain hoses also. Try unplugging the washer and plugging it back up also. This will reset it. Try changing the selections a few times (the timer) to see if this will help as well. Best wishes.

Fisher and Paykel MW511 Washing Machine won't start

Hi,

Please power cycle your washing machine by unplugging your machine for 1 minute before plugging it in again.

If this issue reoccurs , then please check that there are no debris at the bottom of the washer. And you can double check whether the washer door is being shut properly.

Thank you.

Fisher and Paykel Washer GW 609 when switched on at wall keeps pumping

The best bet is to have an authorized serviceman test the control board for continuity. It is out of phase and cannot reset to the normal start position.

Your pump could have blown the in the 4 amp in the board
Check your pump should be 34 Ohms
or higher, but not less then 28 Ohms if so replace pump and the fuse
The 4A fuse is near the AC plug on the board.

Check the pipes actually work first. Is there a hidden drain filter that is partially blocked? Dissasemble the pump and check it works and the blades inside are clean.
