GPS UNIT THAT TAKE ME TO ALASKA

I PURCHASED A INVION ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO, AND NOTICED THAT WEREVER I PROGRAM THE UNIT TO TAKE ME, IT ALWAYS TAKES ME TO ALASKA.
I CALED THAE COMPANY THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM, AND HEY ASKED ME TO SEND IT BACK. THEY KEPT IT FOR A FEW DAYS, SENT IT BACK WITHOUT AN EXPLANATION AND IT STILL TAKES ME TO ALASKA.
I READ YOUR INFO ON YOUR INVION PAGE THAT TELLS ME TO PLUG IT INTO THE COMPUTER, IN THE START MENU, IN MY COMPUTER, AND THEN TO "DEVICES". THERE IS NO HEADING THAT SAYS DEVICES. WHAT CAN I DO?

SINCE YOUR COMPANY SEEMS TO KNOW THE PROBLEM, WHY DID YOU NOT FIX IT BEFORE YOU SHIPPED IT OUT?

I have a Magellan Crossover GPS. The GPS will take me to all locations in the address book, but I can not input any other locations other than those in Alaska

I am not sure if this solve the problem for all GPS systems. My GPS somehow defaulted, or accidentally was changed. My region for my maps was switched to Alaska only. The Magellan Crossover has selections for hte 48 states, Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico. Going into the REGION --> tapping itand selecting Lower 48 states works

This is a very easy problem to fix.

Alaska is the map this device defaults to. Select settings from the main menu.

Then select back.

Select Map Manager.

Then choose Select Map.

It won't tell you to go to Alaska anymore.

Invion 3v506 will not load

Try first unplugging all cables and let it rest for a while.

Keep the start button pressed for ten seconds.

I will check if there is an alternative way to reset your unit.

InVion 4v106 not booting up, Alturion GPS error message!

It is not a matter of just copying the GPs map program to the card. You have somehow deleted the Invion Formatting back to Windows CE.

Special programs are used to get the invion program written into WinCE and then to apply the Icons specific to your GPS like PHOTOS and VIDEO etc.

These programs are installed using the reset and on buttons to get them to boot much like haveing a CD boot up other than the HDD The process of reinstating these to get the maps on and working is about 45 minutes and then the maps can be loaded. At $120 an hour the $40 fee is cheap, so if you want your GPS to work i would take up the offer
