I have voicemail through my telephone company. Recently my panasonic phone system kxt7731 has been answering the calls for voicemail, instead of going to my phone company voicemail. I am being left messages that I cannot retrieve! I would like to "turn off" the voicemail function of my phone system. I'm not sure why the phone changed from working "properly" to now picking up voicemail calls. Thank you for any help you can give me!

Changing voice mail message panasonic kxt7731

The KX-T7731 isn't an answering machine.

If the voicemail is on an answering machine connected to your phone line, consult its manual/

If the voicemail is on the phone company's server, look up the instructions in the phone book, or conrtact the phone company.

When using phone I cannot call out , it gives me a fast dial tone , but I can get incoming calls

Does the fast dial tone persist, or do you get a regular dial tone after a couple of seconds? If the latter, then you have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.

When I receive a call and am not at home, the operator says I am not available instead of going to the answering machine. I am getting no messages.

Sounds like you have voicemail from your service provider and it might need to be activated before allowing messages to be recorded . If you do have voicemail on your number and it is set to answer after 3 rings and your answer machine is set to answer after 4 rings, then the caller will never get to your answer machine. Voicemail is often automatically added by service providers, especially if you have recently changed service providers or your service provider has upgraded their telephone switch equipment. I suggest you call your service provider's customer service number and ask them if your telephone line has voicemail and if you don't want to use it, have them disable it. If the service provider says you do not have voicemail then report the problem as a trouble on your telephone line.
