If the normal cancel button is working then take a look at the tone arm trip switch, which probably just needs adjusting. You can test this by flicking it with your finger when a record is playing. If it works it just needs adjusting to trip at the right place on the record.
The trip switch is located behind the fat end of the cobra tone arm on the back side of the arch, so you get to it by taking the machine back door off.

What happens if you lift the tonearm and slowly move it over its travel in toward the label area past the expected point at which it should cycle? There should be a mechanical click as it engages the lift / return cycle. If so, the mechanism works but might be out of adjustment due to wear and tear.

Perhaps cycling the Record Size switch a few times might have a positive effect on the function. There doesn't seem to be a user adjustment for the end of play cycle.

You can get the manual for free after you register at:

If you decide to venture into the mechanics be cautious, always protect the tonearm from damage and make sure you rotate the platter only clockwise as there are mechanical interlocks that could get damaged if you turn it the wrong way.

SOURCE: my denon 26-f turntable stylus arm lifts about 2 minutes before end of record. how can this be adjusted on the turntable?

Hi Richard, at the base of the tonearm look for a rubber grommet. Under it you will find a screw. Adjust clockwise slightly to make the tonearm lift further along. Fine tune antil sorted. If the adjustment is not at tonearm base remove the rubber platter mat. If the platter has an access hole in it rotate platter so the hole is near the tonearm and look for scew to adjust. SOURCE: The needle arm won't lift and go to the record

Pull the turntable off the mount and look at the loading mechanism, I will bet you will find a broken piece.

AMI J200 1959 Jukebox - Gripper bow strikes tone arm at the end of a record - Starts lifting before gripping the record.

Sounds like tone arm is not swiping away soon enough before record lifts off. This could be a adjustment screw at the base of the tone arm linked to a spring. Same with C gripper

Why won't our arm on our record player advance to play record on auto control? Lifts, moves back and returns to original position.

Try adjusting the counterweight on the back. Average weight setting is 1 gram. most high end RPs have it and it's a 'turn clockwise to increase' deal.
If it's a cheapo, there may be something interfering with the arm. possible a spiderweb inside! or??

The tonearm on my crosley turntable doesnt automatically lift up at the end of the record, what do i do?

At the pivot point on the arm there is an indexing adjustment screw. With the unit running and a record on the table, put the are into the lift area on the record and turn the indexing screw until the arm lifts itself.

Record tracking problem

There is a switch, or lever to a switch, that detects the end of the arm travel. For some reason, it is being tripped early. Try to open it up, and see what you can see. It doesn't sound like a broken part, but a dislodged part, maybe. That's all I remember, only had this problem once, years ago.

THIS JUKEBOX IS 40 YEARS OLD. LUBRICATION MAY BE THE PROBLEM. HERE IS HOW TO FORCE THE SEEBURG JUKEBOX TO PICK UP A RECORD AND PLAY A SONG.
LOOK AT THE ARM THAT HOLDS UP THE NEEDLE AND CARTAGE. NEAR THE MIDDLE OF THE RED ARM, ONE INCH TOWARD THE MOTOR, THERE IS A HORIZONTAL LEAVER LIFT IT UP A RECORD WILL GO INTO THE HEAD, THAT RECORD SHOULD PLAY THE SONG, IF THE LUBRICATION IS OK.
IF THE RECORD GOES INTO THE HEAD, AND THEN PUTS THE RECORD BACK IN THE RACK. YOU HAVE A LUBRICATION PROBLEM.
THAT IS A TOUGHT MACHINE TO FIX IOF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH IT.

Playing to the end of the record

I LOVED the 40bs, and if you look at the size selector, which is located at an angle to the right side at the front along with the manual or auto setting in the front. There are 4 settings, 78-10, 45-7, 33-12, and 33-7 for the speeds and sizes of the recordings.
