SOURCE: loud noise during spin cycle

this is my experience repairing the maytag washer Atlantis mav series 9750 aww, I had to replace the spin bearing since it was making a jet engine noise when it was spinning out the water. its not an easy job for my 1st time taking this machine apart, you literally take it all apart to get to this bearing, but now I can show how to do it with pictures making it easier for you to do it. even if you have to replace something other than the spin bearing, this how to tutorial will show you how to get to most of the parts in this machine

SOURCE: rattling noise during spin cycle

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Your maytag is really an amana and the bearings are bad. Yes it does cost a lot. If i were you i would buy another washer. Get a whirlpool. (whirlpool now owns maytag)

SOURCE: My model #gltr1670aso makes loud noises during spin cycle

Usually this is due to either the drum support breaking or the back bearing being bad-neither easy to fix- or worth it. Try lifting the drum up and down, if it moves up and down they are bad. I see this a lot, and the price of repair isn't worth it. Craig

SOURCE: water leaking and loud noise and rattling on final spin cycle

Turn the drum by hand and if you hear any noises it is the rear bearing. If there is no noise then remove the front bottom panel and take out the coin trap on the pump and check those hoses.

I have a Kenmore 80 series about 4 years old and it is leaking. Had a repair man over 3 months ago and it did not leak. However, I see my baseboard behind the washer pulling away and ran a small load...

check to make sure the drain hose is all the way in the drain pipe in your wall. there should be a strap, or tie wrap holding it in place to keep the water pressure from pushing the pipe out of the drain during the drain cycle. if not, the water pressure will cause the drain hose to rise up and allow water to leak down the wall. use a flashlight. you should be able to see a trail of water residue leaking down the wall. slide the washer out a bit and run it. see if the water is coming from the wall, or leaking out of the washer itself. let me know and we can go from there.

I have a Maytag Neptune top load washer. I continue to get the DC balancing error during the spin cycle. This was repaired less than a year ago and is happening again. Last time they replaced the clutch...

If the clutch fails the first thing noticed is a UC or DC error displayed and there is no drain or spin.

If you are seeing the above error and having a problem with spin and drain then the most likely cause of this is the clutch. The clutch fails to lock down the spinners and the basket is unable to go into spin and without a 90 RPM there is no drain.

Replace the clutch.

GE Washer keeps getting stuck in drain cycle

When you replace the timer before did you tighten up the connectors? and you can figure out your budget I can't $60.00 for a new timer or $1000.00 for a new one. if it lasted for a few years I could find a use for the money elsewhere. But if it has other probems then by all means replace the machine.

Take the drain hose out of the drain pipe and put it into a sink to test the machine

If that works make sure that the drain hose is being allowed to breath (ie let air into the main drain pipe so that the machine does not set up a syphon).
