Try disconnecting power for awhile to allow it to "reset".

SOURCE: Affinity E21 error

E21 means "Not pumping out fast enough". Could be debris caught in the pump inlet sump or pump body.
a75737b.jpg Disconnect the inlet sump from the pump. Disconnect the outlet hose from the pump. Remove the (2) screws, one on each side, holding the pump housing to the washer base. Unplug the wires from the pump motor and lift the pump assembly out.

SOURCE: Hi I have a frigidaire affinity washer

The warning sign "Err" indicates that an error has been detected. Check the machine for error codes such as E47 (the control board detects the door PTC circuit (door lock and switch assembly) is open in spin) or E48 (the control board detects the door PTC circuit (door lock and switch assembly) is close),by waking the machine by pressing any button. Wait for 5 seconds then press and hold the Start and Pause/Cancel buttons simultaneously and as long as the buttons are held, the failure code will appear in the display as an "E" followed by two numbers, a number and a letter or two letters. The control will beep and the Door Lock, Wash, Rinse, and Final Spin indicator lights will flash. Proceed with replacing the door lock and switch assembly (part #131763202) if error code E47 or E48 is confirmed to address the problem. Post back any error code shown other than E47 or E48 for further advice.

Disconnect power to the machine. Open the washer door then look for the retaining hoop securing the door seal around the lip of the door opening. Stretch the retainer spring of the door seal retaining hoop then remove it.

Carefully peel off part of the door seal from the lip of the door opening near the door lock and switch assembly. Remove enough of the door seal to gain access to the door lock and switch assembly.

Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel. Once the screws are removed, lift the door lock and switch assembly then pull it away from the front panel.

Take the door lock and switch assembly out of the machine. Disconnect the electrical connections then connect it to the new door lock and switch assembly.

Put the new door lock and switch assembly into position in the front panel and secure it with the securing screws. Properly put the eased part of the door seal back over the lip of the door opening then secure it with the retaining hoop to complete the repair.

Why wont my washer to perform the system clean cycle?

Hello Larry Occhipinti, thank you for your post!

If you are pushing the necessary buttons on your Frigidaire washer to perform a system clean and they are not working, it could be a possible issue within the control panel. I would recommend a reset on your appliance which can be done by disconnecting power from your appliance for roughly ten minutes. If that does not correct the issue, you can run a hot water wash cycle with a cup of bleach inside the tub to clean your appliance out as well. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

MY FRIDGIDAIRE AFFINITY KEEPS PAUSING DURING CYLES DOSENT MATTER WHAT CYCLE I CHOOSE. IT STOPS ATLEAST 5 TIMES PER CYCLE AND SOMETIME WONT FINISH THE CYCLE. MODEL NUMBER FAFW3801LW3

Hi Brooke, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Often this happens because the washer door is not securely latch or the cycle has been interrupted. Try pressing "PAUSE/CANCEL" or "START/PAUSE" once to resume cycle. If the issue persists, try reprogramming the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn the unit back on. If issue persists, then more than likely the unit has a faulty door latch, a communication error with the control board, or a potential wiring failure. You may wish to reach out to an appliance expert who is best equipped to pinpoint the exact problem, which can often save you funds and a headache.

Best regards!

My frigidaire dyer comes on then the pause message appears. These are new appliances.

Hello barbarada180 - It means that the washer has been paused; the cycle has been interrupted. Either the "Pause/Cancel" button or "Start/Pause" button has been pressed. To resume wash - press "Pause/Cancel" or "Start/Pause" once. If this does not prove to be successful please turn the breaker to the unit off for 5 minutes. Then turn the breaker back on to the unit, and retry the cycle setting again.

My frontloader does not finish its cycle so i have wet heavy clothes sitting there and finish. Please help we no warranty thank you. jeannie

I was having this same problem with my Affinity. It turned out the problem was the filter/cup was full of lint, a hair band, and $1.38 in coins. I found all the information here on this site - just keep looking around - how to get the error code and what it means, and how to open up the machine and how to fix it. I'm a 56 year old grandma with no appliance repair experience, and not that strong, but I was able to do it (I'm still amazed!) The machine is working like brand new!
If you google Frigidaire Affinity problems you will find hundreds of people having problems... my husband emailed some guy at Frigidaire/Electrolux, I called and talked to someone in their customer service - neither one helped me (in fact the woman I talked to told me it sounded like a timer problem - geez!) I wonder how many people just have clogged up filters! This is truly bad engineering... that filter should be easier to get to and maybe they could design the machine so that things can't get from the drum to the pump...
