Paper jam indicated. I pulled out a full sheet of paper and don't see any small pieces left behind. I've tried unplugging, turning off and on, pressing reset button but the paper jam is still there preventing me from printing.

Make sure that there aren't any tiny pieces of paper stuck in any of the rollers or gears. This can cause that as well.

I went to the Canon website and downloaded the drivers for the printer and it printed out right--on a full page.
SOURCE: Our Canon ImageClass D860 copier had a paper jam.
There mite be some paper dust on the sensor where the copier indicate the paper jam is. some can air mite solve the problem. Be careful to direct can air towards the outside of the copier don't want to blow the paper dust to a different sensor

Clearing a paper jam
If the paper jams in the printer, follow the steps below to
clear the jam:
Remove the paper stack from both paper trays.
Press the POWER button. Instead of turning off, the printer
will try to eject the jammed sheet.
If the printer cannot eject the paper, unplug the power cord
from the back of the printer.
NOTE: Do not press the POWER button again before unplugging
the power cord.
Open the rear access door at the back of the printer. To do
this, press the handle to the right and then pull out the door.
Remove the jammed paper. Make sure no small pieces or
obstructions remain.
Reattach the rear access door and plug the power cord back
into the printer.
The printer will turn on automatically and be ready for
printing again.
Reload the paper in the IN tray.
Try printing again.
