We have a Kyocera KM-1815 in our office and the printed copies are coming out with black toner smudge along the right side of the paper... I've recently replaced the toner cartridge and followed the instructions regarding cleaning the inside bits...
any advice?
Hi, try to pull out complete process unit(cartridge) with toner box .You have cleaner(blue or green color) move this cleaner from right to left side 4 or 5 times.Note that cleaner MUST be in home position-right side when you finish.Check print.
If problem still persists, you must do following:take away small grey plastic cap on left side of cartridge, then push complete charge corona(part with cleaner on top of it) to left side just enough to lift right side of corona from cartridge.Pull out that corona and you can see drum and developer roller. Turn the gear on drum, and look for smudges on black developer roller.Try to clean smudges with brush or with dry cloth.Toner will again attract to that area, but regular.
There is a 3 year warranty on the process unit. If you have had it less than 3 years your dealer "should" replace it for free.
Anytime you have a jam, always remove the process unit.
If you pull back on the paper, it reverses the Drum and smashes toner onto the Mag roller. Then the only way to get it off, is to wipe it clean.(As the other person suggested) Easier said than done.
