VODACOM REFUND My router expired and I called july to cancel the contract and yesterday when I phoned they told me they see the request but it was not done I need a correct amout which I need to paid end of September I been told that the refund wil be request but they cant promise anything

log onto your payal account open up a dispute in resolution tab you will have to find this tranzaction and copy the details down (date/item no/etc...(write them down) make a list of problems you have with the seller to make a claim

If you reside where there is a public library, I suggest you ask one of the librarians there about an organization or organizations in South Africa where you can file a consumer complaint regarding the cell phone contract and the early cancellation fee.

Personal opinion: You may just have to resign yourself to keeping Vodacom as your provider and change to a new one when your Vodacom contract is completed. By that time, you will be able to investigate all your choices and understand which company provides the best service and contracts for customers.

I cancelled NetZero and I have another ISP. They say they cannot refund for August which just posted. That does not seem right. Can you help?


With such things there is a cancellation period. It is often ONE FULL billing period. It your subscription is from say 2nd of the month of May and you cancelled it on the 5th May, you would have to pay all of May, and then all of June (one full period) and your sub would end 1st July.

Not a 'simple billing activity', you are terminating the contract you signed. It will be in the small print somewhere when you signed up that nobody ever reads :>)

fixya has nothing to do with orders , supply or anything
It is an advice site only
You are required to contact the seller/ supplier direct ( by phone or e-mail) and make your request of them to get any action
be careful in how you approach them in your refund request as "changing your mind" is not a legal requirement to refund.but they are still required to deliver on the sale unless the items are no longer available in which case your are entitled to a refund

This is a legal problem. You need to write to their Customer Service department stating what you are supposed to be getting for your payments and what you are not. If you are using the internet you may onlt be entitled to a part refund, otherwise ask for a full refund until the proper supply starts.
Keep a copy of any letters you send or eceive, and dates and times and notes of any phone calls.
Even better if you joined Which? magazine as they have a free legal service

This problem can only be resolved between you and Vodacom. Keep trying to escalate the issue up through the management layers until you get a satisfactory response.
