Cannot charge my lg kg 220 phone. with charger connected there is a steady red light that is illuminated.
Almost certainly liquid damage to the lower part of the phone!
Depending on your skills, removing the back cover (the bottom lifts after removing the four screws and then you need to twist and tug the top to get the back off) and clean the bottom 1/4 of the phone using a toothbrush soaked in isopropyl alcohol. Then dry completely with hot air, a hair dryer will suffice.
10 out 10 non-charging KG-220 seem here in the last six months were all fixed using this method!
The classic indication is when plugging the charger into the switch on phone, the handset turns off.
I have also got the same problem. Bought a new battery thinking the old one was dead (because of the continuous red light), the new battery turned on initially, then i flatened the new battery fully a few days later.(the new battery charges when the phone is on and you plug in the charger). I tried to charge the battery and got the dreaded red light. I tried two different chargers, i also got the battery checked by a computer that the battery people that sold me it have in their shop. the battery was fine. if any one has a solution or a suggestion can you email me [email protected].

When on charge there is a steady red light and there is no charge going through to the phone ?
My LG 4010 charger lights up but has no charge to the phone. I have had this phone for years and never had this problem. I tried wiggling the charger ends, took the battery off of the phone to clean contacts, can't find the cause, wondering if the battery, whatever type it is just commonly does this if it goes dead, this is the original battery. How do you tell if the battery is ok?
Thanks
Having the same problem. When the phone is connected to the charger the light is red and it won't charge.
The red light stays on and there is no response from the phone at all. Have tried different wall plug. Don't have a spare charger.
i plug my LG KG220 in and it wont charge or turn on for some reason
