Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement

Important: You must check for 2 pan head tapping screws (1,2) in the lower trim cover before removal.
If necessary, remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (1,2) from the lower trim cover (3). Remove the lower trim cover (3).
If screws are not present in the lower trim cover, proceed to the next step.
Gently unsnap the lower trim cover from the upper trim cover.

Important: You must check for 1 TORX® head screw (1) in the upper trim cover (2) before removal.
If necessary, remove 1 TORX® head screw (1) from the upper trim cover (2).
If a screw is not present, remove the upper trim cover (2).

this mower is supost to have a briggs engine on it , it has a plastic top cover that envelops the entire top of engine , most times these covers are held down with TORX screws , a five sided pointed screw these usually are available in sets

On model 6863XL, there are just two screws near the bottom on the back. Remove the screws to remove the back cover. Trimmer will come off with the back cover

There is 3 torx screws that hold the cover over the switch,,,,,remove them to remove the cover,,,there is 4 torx screws on the switch its self ,,, remove them and then you unplug the wire end from the switch,,,,, remove the switch,,, place the new switch in possion ... install the wire end to the switch,,, place the 4 screws in the switch and tighten Hand tight,,,, install the upper and lower cover pices and install the screws,,, hand tight....

1. In order to remove the headlights, you need to remove the front bumper cover.
2. Place the front of the car on jack stands.
3. You will need to remove the screws on each side in the fender wells on the back side that screw into the bumper. these are torx screw head type.
4. On the underside of the car there are larger torx type screws that attach the bumper cover to the body. They need to be removed.
5. You will need to remove the grill that has the VW symbol on it. Under the grill there is more torx type screws to remove. Inorder to remove the grill you need to get the hood release rod off as well.
6. With the bumper cover removed, there are four torx type screws holding the headlight in place. Once removed you can unplug them and the head light is off.
   

Most high end appliances (like Rowenta Irons) are made so repairs like that can be done. I haven't played with that model, but I did replace a cord on my Norelco. The torx screwdrivers you are looking for can be purchased, and are often found at either specialty electronic stores (not the average Radio Shack), automotive stores and quite readily online. They are also known as Torx Security bits or Torx Safety bits. Most appliances are made with those screws to prevent the average person from having a go at trying to fix it, but, if you feel comfortable enough with the electronics (even just to look for a loose connection), the bits are available and usually at a fairly decent price.

1) the drum heater sensor is dirty. lift top cover & look for the large white plastic part to the left of the stripper guide . The sensor is underneath this - to get to it you have to remove side then top covers to reach the screw holding it in place. Clean & replace. If this doesn't work then.....
2) the heater lamps have blown. Unplug from power, remove front cover, remove side covers, remove maintenance tray, remove/loosen blue plastic tray guides, in the front of the printer two torx screws will remove chrome duplex plate, remove paper entry assy by first removing clutch on left hand side of printer attached to paper entry assy,remove assembly (1 torx on right hand side & 1 split washer left hand side), unplug power connector (right hand side of printer going into paper pre-heater) remove two more torx screws to drop pre-heater assy from front of printer - check the two lamps and replce if neccessary. Reverse to refit the bits

Ypu need to pull the upper and lower covers that wrap around the column where the switches are.There are 3 or 4 screws that are on the bottom half that need to be removed.You need a certain size torx bit or a phillips for these types of screws.Carefully take the covers off and you should see where the switch mounts and wires plug in.

The 2 screws securing the top are located behind 2 plastic covers on the front top, remove these 2 covers and the screws are located there, you will need a torx screwdriver to remove the screws.

If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (and the owner's manual doesn't address it) some disassembly may be required.

On a counter top model, you'll have to remove the outer cover.

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, and a special driver (such as a T20H Torx type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

If it's an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and see if bulbs can be accessed behind there.

There may be a panel on the bottom covering the light(s), instead.

If not, chances are you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

Once your over the range type is out of the wall, or if yours is a counter top model, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed.

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, and a special driver (such as a T20H Torx type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.
