Inserting an SD Memory Card(Optional)
All images and video clips taken by the camera can be stored in an SD (Secure
Digital) Memory Card. Even if the camera's power is OFF, the images saved in the
SD Memory Card are not erased. An SD Memory Card can be repeatedly read and
written. You may also expand the memory capacity up to 512MB so that you can
store additional images and video clips.
1. Make sure the camera is off.
2. Slide the battery/SD Memory Card cover in the direction of the [OPEN] arrow.
3. Insert an SD Memory Card :
The front side of the memory card (printed
arrow) should face towards the front side
of the camera.
If the card cannot be inserted, check the
orientation.
4. Close the battery/SD Memory Card cover.
To remove the SD Memory Card, make sure
the camera is off. Open the battery/SD Memory Card card cover. Press
lightly on the edge of the memory card and it will eject.
Note:
If the camera is powered-on without the card, the "NO CARD" message appears on
the LCD monitor.
To prevent valuable data from being accidentally
erased from an SD Memory Card you can slide the
write-protected tab (on the side of the SD Memory
Card) to "LOCK".
To save, edit or erase data on an SD Memory Card,
you must unlock the card.
MultiMedia Card (MMC) can not be used.
You need to format an SD Memory Card before using it in this camera

New Jazz DV150. Installed new batteries (tested) and SD card (tried switch in both locations). Powers on, says "Read card....", "Goodbye", powers off.

HI, I just got off the phone with a very nice man in NJ at Digitac. He walked me through a few fixes: Try a different SD card, clear SD card, put SD card in and then start camera, start camera and then put SD card in. None worked, so he said something is wrong with the camera computer and I will have to send the camera in for warranty work.

Installing SD Memory Card

Your camera has a memory card slot that enables you to insert any "SD" compatible memory card up to 8BG. Adding a memory card will allow you to increase the capacity of your camera before you have to transfer photos and videos to your PC. Install the SD memory card as below:

  1. Locate the Memory Card slot within the battery compartment.
  2. Insert the Memory card into the slot in the correct direction. (see the sketch below)

  1. Push the card in until you feel it "click" into position. The top of the card should be flushed with the surface of the camera. An icon will appear on the LCD screen after you turn on your camera.
  2. Once the external memory card is inserted into the camera all the images taken with the camera will be stored on the card.

Note:

  1. Limited internal memory is provided for test images. The image will be deleted when camera power is turned off. Please download the images before power off .SD memory card is required for normal use.
  2. An external memory card is required for normal use. Your camera supports any compatible SD memory card (up to 8GB).
  3. If there is a photo in the internal memory when you insert the card into your camera, a "Copy to card" message will appear on the LCD with Yes or No options. On selecting 'Yes' the photo will now be copied to your card.
  4. Formatting will delete all data on the SD memory card including protected data.

  1. Don't remove the SD card during formatting as this may damage the card and render it unusable.
  2. When your card is full, download the media on the SD card to your PC and delete the photos and videos from it in order to continue using your

I have a Canon Power Shot A520 and have just put in a new memory card 4GB and new batteries. When I turn on camera is says memory card error at the top of the sceen. Why is that?

The A520 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible.

You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

I recently bought a SanDisk 4GB SDHC card for my DXG-572V. I put it in the camera, and I turned the power on. A screen comes up saying "Format Card?". I have tried selecting both "Yes" and "No", but...

Your problem is that you are trying to use an incompatible memory card.

The DXG-572V is not SDHC compliant and will only work with regular SD cards. In theory it's compatible up to 4GB but in practice there are few standard SD devices which work well with standard SD cards above 2GB.

SD Card Recognition

Perform the following procedures when your digital camera does not detect the SD card. 1. Restart the camera Turn the main power OFF, or open the battery cover or SD card/battery cover to remove the battery. Make sure the SD card is fully installed. Then, turn the main power ON, or insert a battery again and close the battery cover or SD card/battery cover until it latches. 2. Initialize the SD card Format the SD card with your camera. Formatting procedures varies depending on the camera model. See the Camera User Guide supplied with your camera for the instruction to format the SD card. When formatting the SD card, slide its tab upward to cancel write protection. It is impossible to format the SD card while it is write protected. 3. Check if your camera detects other SD cards (If you own multiple SD cards.) If your camera does not detect the SD card after performing the procedures 1 and 2, check if the camera detects other SD cards. If it does detect other SD cards, the SD card that wasn't detected may contain some problem.
