FRIGIDAIRE GAS RANGE FGF378WCC

Starting the oven is fine, but after a few seconds it shuts itself down. The stove top burners still work, but the broiler does the same thing, ignites then shuts down after a few seconds.

What is the function of the temp probe? The problem isn't constant, sometimes the oven functions OK.

Sl, because it't happening to both broil and bake the first thing I would suspect is the temperature probe. You should ohm it out. You can do this either at the board or at the harness connection in back. For the board, remove the back panel, there should be a 8 pin connector to the left of 3 relays. On the harness measure the resistance of the wires going to pins 1 and 2. On the shemantic it shows them being the 2 on the bottom. Should read around 1100 ohms at room temp. If you cant get a good reading on it there, Remove the probe from the inside oven, remove the screws and pull it out until the harness connector comes through, disconnect it and ohm it out from there. I don't think that both ignitors would fail at the same time so Im leaning toward the probe. Catriver.

Well now you could have a different deal, I was under the impression this was happening to the bake and broil every time you started the oven. If it's itermittant then I would look at the ignitors. They have to draw so many amps to open the gas valve and keep it open. If it is weak, the gas will shut off. This can be hit and miss. Catriver

I have a whirlpool GW395 gas stove with a problem. When you first turn it on it lights, it will stay lit for about 45 seconds then the burner will go off , after you let it set for about 45 seconds it...

The usual problem with these ovens is the oven burner itself. the burner will click 3 times and usually lights but after a few minutes shuts down and will no light again until you reset the control. If this is happening then try replacing the oven burner. It comes as one unit the burner assembly and electrode. Part # 8191123. If this doesn't work then it coould be your spark module unit. This is about twice the cost or more.

WHIRLPOOL Sup Cap 465 oven turns on for 3 sec, then shuts off

The flame sensor is dirty or bad.

When the unit does not sense flame after ignition, the gas valve shuts down the system.

They can become corroded or dirty, but usually just need to be replaced.

Contact whirlpool for warranty info. If the unit is under warranty, they should send you the parts for free. If not, they can direct you in how to order the part.

Frigidaire gas range oven won't come on

the oven ignitor needs replacing, this is the part that makes everything works, it's a glow coil in side the oven, nest to the burner, that is the electronic pilot, when it goes bad the safety valve, the one that sends gas to the oven will not open to light the oven burner.

Gas oven won't light (by 2 users)

Can hear the clicking of the auto starter when starting the oven, but it stops after 5 seconds and then the oven simply fills with gas. Broiler still works fine as do the stove top burners. Any thoughts?

Good question? You may have a plugged up burner and or the pipes or jets may not be adjusted correctly and it could be your igniter on the gas range because it is not igniting the spark to create the flame. You may want to have it check out with an authorized service repair tech to make sure it is safe and will function well. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local appliance dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

First thing I would check is see if you are getting 220 volts to the stove.  Must be a constant 220.  Let me know what you find.
