From the description, it sound like its time to get new battery packs. Initially just get 1 to make sure the phone chargers are working. If the new pack takes & holds the charge problem solved. Should everything be under the original (or extended) warranty, call the number on the documents to see what you need to do for repairs.

Light comes on on cordless phone but will not display an incoming call, number dialed, or number of messages

there is always a way to fix, but may out way the price of new phone. I think you may be able to get a replacement hand set resonable.

Panasonic kx-tga101s battery charge problem

I had the same problem but different panasonic phone 1311 model, I tried the first anonymous suggestion, drained the batteries(takes 2 AAAs) and now it seems to be charging normally.. already at 3rd bar now after a couple of hours of charging. Thank you anonymous.
