How do i get bye this screen to install windows again.
Sounds like hard is fried you probably need to replace hard drive and reinstall the windows.
In my limited experience all IBM compatible computers and that is nearly all of them, work in just about the same way. Faced with your problem I would begin by getting into the bios and changing the boot order.
Access the bios during the start of the startup as directed in one of the first few screens - it all happens so fast the computer might have to be restarted several times by pressing the Alt, Ctrl and Del buttons together. Access the bios by pressing the Del, F8 or whatever at the critical time.
Once into the bios go to the page dealing with the boot order and rearrange them so the dvd/cd drive is first in the order and then save the change and exit; then put the Windows system disc in the drive and close the drawer and very quickly restart the computer.
If all is good an onscreen message should appear, Boot from disc? or similar...
Testimonial: "I've tried doing all kinds of stuff like that, i just can't get to another page, it automatically goes to the " there was a problem" thing, i can't get to anything else."
Could be the hard drive has a problem. I would remove and format the drive and run chkdsk by connecting it to another computer via one of the many inexpensive usb adaptors that are available. Windows resists the installation of a lower spec operating system so assuming the drive and other hardware is ok, a clean drive should cure your problem.
I totally agree

Seems like the preinstalled image is corrupt or there is a hardware problem. Contact Acer for the correct procedure since this is a new system. I could offer alternate methods if you have the Windows install disc, but it is best to contact the manufacturer as soon as possible so it is on record.

So was this the issue then? You can run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor to see if there are any compatibility issues that you may
be having with hardware or software that would prevent an upgrade to Windows Vista.
I hope this helps.
