If it is fiberglass and you are good at using that fiberglass patch kit, you could try it, but I would not attempt it -- the water damage you are not aware of over time can be both extensive and expensive.

SOURCE: crack in clear blue hawaii molokini hull

Use a fiberglass repair kit, available at most hardware stores. Use an overlay prior to patching so you don't develop a soft spot in the hull.

I have a leak from the input gasket my kenmore 400 washer, which is plastic and has cracked, can I repair it myself?

yes you can lock tight glue for rubber and plastic.(tube glue not superglue it's like a gel) thin amount of glue locks it in place or a blob of glue turns into a rubber seal. also stops cracking from same crack. used it myself works great.

Water in hull of bass tender pro

Find the leak and patch it. Use a good marine epoxy system with a sheet or two of fiberglass cloth laid-across the crack. Be sure to sandpaper the area thoroughly with rough paper. If you can't find a leak or crack, fill the hull with water and inspect for leak. Repair after.

Repair of small crack/cut in the hull bottom...3 " long..1/64" or less wide...

It depends on the material of the hull. If it is Fiberglass then buy a small auto or boat repair fibreglass kit and follow instructions in the kit.
. If it is one of the engineering thermoplastics like High density Polyethylene ABS or Polypropylene I would try and find somone who can weld it with the appropriate material. This would be done by carefully shaping the plastic away from the crack to form a "V" shaped recess and then filling the gap with the appropriate filler rod usually using a hot air blower designed for the job.

My windshield washer reservoir leaks on my '98 Honda Civic.

Ok... put the duct tape down. And back away from the truck... just kidding.. I wouldn't recommend duct tape. or hot glue...
If you have a visible crack or hole, drain the tank to below the crack, clean with a little vinegar and water, and lightly sand the plastic housing.
Place a small patch of plastic sheetrock mesh tape over the crack and then...
Use a bit of epoxy that is recommended for use on plastics. Mix up a small batch, spread over the crack and over the mesh.. Let dry and refill.
Don't worry about pressure, because the tank isn't under pressure on most cars...

Dishwasher tub leaks underneath

Hello. Anything is worth trying! But I would recommend epoxy. It works alot better with plastic and rubber items. Most of the leaks I have found in Kenmore machines are at the water pump. You may want to take a peek while it's running, just stay away from the wires!! Thanks!

Scanoe, Ram-X, Split in hull near gunwhales- Repair, How?

I found a Scanoe like this on craigslist that was being given away because of several splits ins the hull. I was ready to buy that patch kit on line when I stumbled on a solution that worked great! I was in Home Depot looking in their pond department and saw some self adhesive patches for poly ponds. I bought on for less than $7.00 and gave it a try. I sanded the inside of the hull around the split. cleaned it well and applied the patch. It worked like a charm!

Frig liner is cracking

I have the same problem on my 3 year old Kenmore Refrigerator. I cleaned out the refrigerator and noticed the cracks. I don't know how long they've been there. I called the service guy out and he said it's a known problem. He said the plastic wasn't poured right into the mold. He told the only solution is a silicon type caulking or a patch. The patch involved cutting pieces of liner from a sheet and basically glueing them over the cracks. BOTH SOLUTIONS are unacceptable. I am beginning the process of complaining (lot of good it will do). If this is a known defect, SEARS should stand by their product and make it good.

Crack in Freezer Lining

bpat, Im guessing that your model number begins with 106, If so it's built by Whirlpool. Look at your owners manual and see if it mentions a warranty on the liner. Some models carried a 10 year warranty against cracking. If not, there are some kits available out there to patch cracks but it's not the greatest looking deal. Catriver...post back
