SOURCE: Remote doesn't work

According to Mintek support you should unplug your set for 30 minutes which is a reset/rebooting process. Then plug it in and hold the DVD eject button for 5 seconds [at least]. The DVD should eject unless there is another problem. If it doesn't eject then call Mintek support at 877-646-8358 for help. They told me you have to send the TV to them and they'll send a new one. If you have to do that then make sure you tell them you want your DVD returned when they get it out. Good luck.

SOURCE: PHILIPS MAGNAVOX TV PR1910 C125 DATED 1995

Is the Remote you are using an original factory supplied one from Philips?
If NI, then get one. You could ask the local Philips / Magnavox dealership, tho I have my doubts, from the age of the TV. If the dealership has one, yopu could borrow it for amn hour or so. Then use it to go to Menu>SETUP> DEMO or MENU>DEMO>DISABLE and disable the Demo function.
Otherwise, as you said, Out Front of the House on Garbage Pick UP day.

SOURCE: Why does my RCA TV cycle through channels on its own?

this is the same type of problem happening with other rca models and I know it is the EPROM CHIP but why this is failing is either because of design flaw , dirty enviroment that they were made in , to much voltage or current to the chip or too much of a draw from the chip causing it to fail . Or even a random frequency from the IR sensor or its circut I'm still investigating and testing.
leave the tv unplugged for at least 3 weeks durring this time resolder any solder that don't look good , I did this and it lasted for about 6 months(always plugged in to the wall) before it started doing it again. model # 27v412t

SOURCE: cd player works and volume control all other buttons won't

I have seen broken board inside. Have you ever pushed the front panel? If so, the board behind the control is cracked. If you are a tech, open and solder. If not, take it to a service center

Will a universal remote work? How to access the menu?

A universal remote can work with your TV, but whether it can access the menu depends on the specific model of both the TV and the universal remote. Universal remotes are designed to be compatible with a wide range of devices, including TVs, DVD players, audio systems, and more. However, not all universal remotes have the same features or compatibility with every function of a specific TV.
Here are the general steps to set up a universal remote with your TV and access the menu:
  1. Check Compatibility:
    • Ensure that your universal remote is compatible with your TV model. The packaging or user manual of the universal remote should list compatible brands and models.
  2. Find the TV Code:
    • Locate the code for your specific TV model in the documentation that came with the universal remote. The manual should include a list of codes for various TV brands.
  3. Program the Universal Remote:
    • Follow the instructions in the universal remote's manual to program it for your TV. This usually involves entering a code that corresponds to your TV model.
  4. Testing:
    • After programming, test the basic functions like power, volume, and channel to ensure that the universal remote is working with your TV.
  5. Accessing the Menu:
    • Most universal remotes have a dedicated "Menu" button or a button labeled with a similar term. Press this button to access the menu on your TV.
    • If there isn't a specific "Menu" button, look for a button with an icon that resembles a list, settings, or options. Sometimes, these buttons serve the same purpose.
    • If you're unable to find a dedicated button, refer to the universal remote's manual for guidance on accessing the menu or adjusting settings.
  6. Navigating the Menu:
    • Once you've accessed the menu, use the arrow buttons or navigation buttons on the remote to move through the menu options.
    • Some universal remotes may have an "OK" or "Enter" button that you can press to select a menu option.

Any one got the universal remote code for a sony bravia KDL-32S3000. Trying to reprogramme my sky HD remote and it will not work the TVguide button.

The Universal Remote can be used for the basic operations like turning ON/OFF, changing the channels, changing the volume. However, the main features like TV Guide and internal menu settings cannot be accessed using the Universal Remote. To access the all features of the product, it is required to use the Remote supplied with that product only.

I have a flat screen Sanyo Model# ctl 2054 will a universal remote control work for this tv I don't have the orginal remote control?

Yes, a universal remote control should work on this TV since all remote controls utilizes infrared sensing technology. However, not all functionalities and features of your TV can be accessed using a universal remote control, thus only the basics like volume and channel controls but some advance features like menu setup might not work.

Resetting lock and accessing menu with universal remote

For these tvs you have to unplug them for three hours to reset them. When you are able to access the menu if the remote control is not allowing you to move up and down left and right usually channel up is up channel down is down volume - is left and volume + is right. If worse comes to worse you can get the original remote from Sharp for $42.50 +tax and shipping by calling 1.877.674.2832 or from replacementremotes.com for $39.65 at 336-377-2220. The remote can always be returned if having it does not fix your problem.

Original remote lost. have universal remote. cannot program TV

On the right hand side of this television there are panel buttons. It appears that your son in law knocked the tv out of the correct input. Press the input button in order to cycle through the 5 inputs. Typically pressing the input button on the side panel of a television and pressing it again and again and again will make it change inputs. Universally the buttons on the tv panel function as follows: Channel up moves the cursor up. Channel down moves the cursor down. Volume + moves the cursor right. Volume - moves the cursor left.

Cannot access channel 73 on TV2

If you are unable to access the TV menu using the buttons on the TV itself it is possible you can with the TV2 remote if it still controls the volume etc. for this TV. If it doe not you will need to find a code for your set in the manual for the receiver or you can go to the following link to find that info as well.http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/TechPortal/content/tech/receiver/625.shtml
Assuming you have control of the volume still press the small TV button on the top left of the remote. Now press the menu button and you may be able to access the TV's menu. If so you need to run a channel scan/auto program the TV. You may need to use the buttons on the TV still to maneuver through the menu.
If you are still unable to access the menu you may need to purchase a universal to access the menu.

Zenith h32h38dt 32

The "H" model Zenith TVs are hotel/motel sets designed that
a roomer cannot access the menu feature. Your best bet would
be to purchase a name brand universal remote which has the
menu button feature or order an original Zenith master remote
which would not require programming. Once you have a workable
remote which will allow you to access the on-screen menus you
should be able to program the channels.
Hope this helps,
