SOURCE: Thompson recordable freeview box

It's probably a corrupt file. Probably the first one in your library.
What you need to do is go into the library and quickly delete that file.
You need to press delete and confirm before it has had time to notice the file is corrupt.
I think it's green then blue, might be blue then green. I forget.

BTW, If anyone out there knows how to make use of the USB port on these things, can you let me know?

SOURCE: Dvr not working. Won't record, pause rewind

Try unplugging the unit from the electrical outlet for about five minutes- much longer than required- and try it again. If this fails you will need a service technician to resolve the issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

SOURCE: My Thomson Top up TV box will not record. I go to

Sounds to me like your hard drive is full. Do you use the topup tv part of the box? If not, deselect all the topup tv channels. This will free up a significant amount of drive. Failing that, you'll have to delete some of your programs, sorry!
To deselect topup tv channels;
Go into the menu option, Customise Top Up TV Anytime, and de-activate all the selected channels

SOURCE: DVR refuses to rewind or pause live TV or record

ruukasu2005,

If you are still experiencing problems with your 625 receiver performing live DVR functions, try unplugging the receiver for about 10 seconds and plugging back in. This will cause the receiver to reboot and acquire satellite signal. After the picture returns, then try to pause. If it still doesn't work, then we may need to replace the receiver. I hope this helps.

We can' record while watching another tv channel.

Hi
You only have one digital tuner so will have to watch analogue whilst recording or view through the TV tuner if you can.
My mother has just bought a sh893m and I can guess what word the sh is the beginning of it has 4 letters and smells!
Unfortunately she has kept it too long to return, waiting for us to visit and try and make it work properly, read the reviews on line you will see what I mean! Long live Sony our RDR HXD870 is superb

Hello! My Philips DVDR5350H/05 randomley records for 6 hours. The only way to stop this, once the recording has started, is to go into the system menu and select the option to remove the time shift...

Hello. This is not a fault. The DVDR5350H's Hard Drive (called Time Shift Buffer) begins recording (for up to six hours) as soon as the unit it switched on and only clears the 'temporary' recordings when it is switched off or you switch to 'Cam' mode on the remote control.

Like Sky+ and Freeview+, the continuous recoding enables you to save, pause and rewind live TV (this could also apply to Freeview or any source that you may have connected to the EXT1 and EXT2 SCART sockets. In other words, if you are watching TV or anything connected to the 5350 while it is switched on you can keep it without even having pressed record in the first place (pressing OK on the remote control will show you how).

It is normal for all HDD recorders with a 'pause live TV' function to record whether asked to or not.
