My Archos 604 wifi only play a few minutes after charging.. I have used the dvr, usb and wall charger and nothing helps.. is my battery kaput? also since messing with it the touchscreen isn't working... Help...

yes you can, however the battery must be inserted into the 604. Simply dock the 604, ensure the dvr is turned on and the 604 will automatically turn on and start charging.

it must be the battery..While charging is pilot lamp lighning ?
To verify,just plug the USB cable to see if device battery charging circuit is working..
If it does,either your battery is dead or its charger needs to be changed.

If you mean will the Gen 5 DVR Station Remote work with a Gen 4 DVR Station, I believe it will for at least the basic player controls on your 604 (except for the alpha keyoard entry because the Gen 4 players did not have this feature enabled).

If you mean, will the Gen 5 DVR Station Remote control your Archos 604 directly (without a dvr dock), the answer is no, you must have a DVR Station for the remote to work on any Archos player.

Hi there, got the same problem too - have tried to put the cinema and podcast add ons to no effect, re ripping dvd didnt help either. if you get any solutions can you email me on [email protected] its driving me mad!

i had this problem recently when charging on the DVR docking station, i switched it off, took the battery off, left it for a shirt time then pressed the reset, it took a few attempts but eventually it restarted 

Just get a USB/AC converter. You can use the same computer cable to plug into the wall.

Are you sure the battery is charged? If so, try detach and retach the battery. Also try to attach to your computer via the usb cable and the 604 should turn on by itself, if nothing happens you need to send back to Archos for repair.

does it have a battery? remove it
does it have a reset?

I might have got this wrong but i thought there a fix you could download from the Archos site,i had the same problem with my mate's one only got to watch 1 and a half episode of the tv series of Heroes,i also ordered a battery type charger that could give it up to 2-3 charges while you travel.

Check the power pack for the DVR station and see if theres a green light still lit. I've had two power packs for the DVR station fail. This will cause the syptoms your seeing.
