If it has a bowl guard on it then it could be the bowl height switch or the side switch on the contactor. If it does not have a bowl guard then it is more than likely the contactor side switch.Check www.hobartservice.com for your local Hobart office.
first, what is wrong with the mixeralways describe problem the best you can always include mod#,ser#and with any hobart pc. of equip. the ml# this is important
Look in the bottom back of the pedestal,you will see a cover,remove the cover a contactor start switch and relay will be in there.I suspect the relay is bad,if you dont see a relay its a older unit.What is the ml #? You can find it on the data plate on the b ack.
Sounds to me like the start switch contacts are welded shut.If you have a multimeter set it to ohms,remove 1 wire from the switch,put your meter leads across the switch and if you get a reading that switch is bad.If you dont get a reading i would check the side switch on the contactor.Im a hobartt tech and repair these mixers alot.Let me know.
