Amana bottom freezer is not cooling or freezing. Fans working, no ice build up on condensers, compressor does not seem to be kicking in. Unit is at least 10 years old. Any suggestions on how to fix?

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on
and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to
start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload
relay.
Testimonial: "may be helpful, will check to see if compressor kicks in."
Hi,
Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.
If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.
If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...

I removed the defroster thermostat to see if that may be an issue. The unit was running for about 30-45 minutes and the coil coming into the back of the freezer was icing up. I reconnected the thermostat to see what happens, it read 58 ohms when tested.
