Instructions for changing internal battery for Ensoniq KT88

To change the internal battery in an Ensoniq KT88, follow these steps:
  1. Preparation:
    • Ensure that the keyboard is powered off and unplugged from any electrical source.
    • Create a clean and safe workspace with adequate lighting.
  2. Opening the Keyboard:
    • Locate the screws securing the keyboard casing. These are usually found on the bottom of the keyboard or around the sides.
    • Use a screwdriver appropriate for the screws and carefully remove them.
    • Gently lift the casing, being mindful of any cables or connectors that may be attached.
  3. Locating the Battery:
    • Look for the internal battery, typically a small coin-shaped battery. It is usually located on the main circuit board or nearby.
    • Take note of the battery's orientation and any clips or holders securing it in place.
  4. Removing the Old Battery:
    • Carefully disconnect any clips or holders that are keeping the battery in place.
    • If necessary, use a small tool like a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the battery out, taking care not to damage the circuit board.
  5. Installing the New Battery:
    • Ensure that the replacement battery matches the specifications of the original battery (e.g., voltage and size).
    • Insert the new battery into the same position and orientation as the old battery.
    • Secure the battery using any clips or holders that were originally in place.
  6. Closing the Keyboard:
    • Double-check that all connections and cables are properly seated.
    • Align the keyboard casing with the body of the keyboard and carefully lower it into position.
    • Replace the screws and tighten them securely but not excessively.
  7. Powering On and Testing:
    • Plug in the keyboard to an electrical source.
    • Power on the keyboard and check if it functions properly.
    • Verify that any user settings, presets, or system data are retained, indicating that the new battery is working correctly.

Hi David, Saving Presets: 1. Navigate to your favorite station with the UP/DOWN buttons. 2. Press MEMORY once. The preset choice will go to the next available one. 3. Within 5 seconds, press MEMORY again to save the current frequency as a preset, or else use the UP/DOWN buttons to fi nd another preset number, then press MEMORY to save it. 4. The UP/DOWN buttons usually tune the frequency, but when loading the presets, they navigate the presets. Try this and let us know if it works for you. Best regards, Bill

How do you do a hard rest with the m-audio axiom 25 generation 2 ? DirectLink stopped working, I need to find a way to fix it.

Hold down the LOAD and SAVE buttons while powering on the Axiom will do a hard reset. This will erase any presets you've set up and restore the Axiom to the factory defaults.
Hope this helps,
Stewart
