I'm happy to assist you regarding on Toshiba 42H81 Owner's Manual.

Please click HERE to download the Pdf file format. When you are on the link, click "Download the Document", enter your email address and the confirmation number and then click "Download Now" to automatically beging the download. After the download completed you can now open and view the manual. The link is a safe website, I used it personally.

To open the file you must have an Adobe Reader installed at computer. Just in case you don't have it yet click HERE to donwload and then installed it. After the download compledted, run the set-up and then follow the wizard.

Thanks for posting the entire name of the TV--that helped me find this link to the manual for it on Toshiba's service pages. note: usually try posting the 'Model #', not the 'Serial #', since serial #'s are too unique to help find your info online! Glad to be able to help, though--don't get me wrong, please, this time, this one was pretty easy, thanks!

my toshiba tv.is around 6yrs. old...this morning when i tried to turn it on,..nothing...i have cable so i use a "box" & my cable company remote...i can turn on the box manually..the remote turns on my dvd player.{sony]...we had a blizzard start during the night..my cable company said they were having problems..i cannot turn on the tv manually..it does nothing at all...is there a safety feature that is causing the problem?..the model number is;27df46...serial number;BAB614020144A...PLEASE ADVISE...Fiona Duffy

Normally, the serial number is on the back of the TV on the manufacture placard. It should TOSHIBA in big letters, model number under it, and the serial number should be below the model number. It might be SS# or SS:

I'm afraid Toshiba goes by the complete model number instead of the serial number. Go here, choose product support, click on show all models, enter your model #, choose go. You will find a downloadable user's guide among the downloads available for your model. Right click on the highlighted text that describes the user's guide you want to download, choose save target as, choose the folder you want to save it in (or create one), and ok the download.
Wait for it to complete downloading before you attempt to open it.
