It's possible that the box is dead and need's to be replaced. One thing you can try is rebooting the box by unplugging the power cord and then plugging it back in. You can also try plugging it into a different outlet. Are you sure it's the box that's dead and not the tv?
Take your Shaw remote control.
Press SETTINGS.
Use the LEFT/RIGHT keys to highlight PVR.
Click OK.
Use the LEFT/RIGHT/UP/DOWN keys to highlight PVR HISTORY.
Click OK.
Scroll through the entries, looking for any "hardware failed" or "hardware error" messages -- finding any implies a failing disk-drive inside the Expander.
