It depends on the app you are using to text.
One ay to do it is going directly to the photo using any app for photo (ie; gallery, Photos, etc...) choose the picture that you want to share, tap the share icon, and choose the app that you want to use to share it. In this case you need to choose the app that you use to text.
Another way is to open the sms app, and there should be an icon which could be a camera, or image or even a link, choose one of these icons, and then choose the app that manage the photo that you want to use, or the file manager if you know where the photo is saved.
One way to transfer (or save) a photo to your photo gallery is to click on the photo, then hold your finger down on it until a menu pops up. Click on "Save Photo" and it will appear in your photo gallery.
Another way is to click on the photo so that it doesn't have any text or icons showing, then simply take a screenshot by pressing both the Standby (power) button and Home button simultaneously, and it should appear in your photo gallery.
Please specify which digital picture frame you are using. You mention that .... "I click on the photo viewer icon on the desktop and i get a message "no photo viewer found" ..... This is desktop computer setting issue. In order to view a photo on a PC, you must set up a file association with between the PC software and the file format of your picture.
on idevice like the iphone and iPad? well it depend on what IOS version you are on. If you are using anything before IOS 7 the way to attach photos is kinda backwards.
you don't actually attach photos but you choose the photos you want to send in an email.
anything below IOS 7 1)Tap on the PHOTO app and Go into you photos. 2)Choose the photos. You can send one or more. If you are in your photos you should have an icon on the top right (its the last icon, a picture of an arrow going out of a square). Once you hit that icon you are able to mark your photos to send . Each photos you choose will have a check mark on it. 3)Once you have all the photos marked hit the "SHARE" icon on the top left of the screen. From there you can email or message those marked photos. Once you tap on the email, your email app will open up with each one of the photos attached to the body.
IOS 7 method If you are looking at an individual photo from your PHOTO app, you can tap on the share icon (the square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom left to bring your email and text share options Sometimes when you go into your photos app it will bring up in yearly view... in that case 1)Tap on the PHOTO app and Go into you photos. 2)Choose your photos. If your app opens in "YEARS" view tap on the photos to zoom into "COLLECTIONS" view. From there tap on the collection where the photo you want to send is located. That would bring you to "MOMENTS" view. With IOS 7 the photos apps arrange your photos by YEARS>>COLLECTION>>MOMENTS. In MOMENTS view you can tap on the "SELECT" on the top right which will allow you to choose the photos you want to send in an email.
3)After you choose a photo(s) the icon on the bottom left (one with an arrow pointing up from a square - this is called the share icon) is available to tap. If you hit that you'll get all the option as to how to share those photos including facebook and twitter
Open Instagram settings. Tap the Profile icon in the bottom right corner of your iPhone. Tap the gear icon It's located at the upper right of the screen. Scroll down to the bottom of the Options page. Enable Original Photos. This will save your original images to your Camera Roll. High resolution versions of the filtered photo are also saved to the Camera Roll. Note: both original and filtered photos are automatically saved to your phone. The originals are saved in the Camera photo album, and the filtered versions are saved in the Instagram photo album.
As per the last persons solution the key icon does indicate you have locked the photo. First select the photo you want to delete, press menu, select playback menu, the key icon appears, press the weird shaped arrow button to the right of the OK; phot unlocks and allows to delete!!
