SOURCE: Homelite gas trimmer will not run without half choke and throttle

You need to disassemble the carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. If you need tips on how to do this, just let me know. You may need a new carb. kit as well, but we won't know that until you first perform the first step, or if the carb. parts are more than 3 years old. If they are, then go ahead and buy the carb. kit and replace the parts.

I replaced fuel and carb lines on my Poulan 2450 chain saw. I cannot seem to find the correct path/attachment for the throttle connection. Parts diagrams do not show this. Can someone provide a diagram...

It is quite difficult to explain exactly how it fits, the cable always looks too long and has to curl around on itself back to the trigger, the picture shows quite well how it goes, the end of the cable with a dog leg in it goes to the carb, as far as i remember it goes to the upper hole in the carb spindle, just push it into the hole and turn through 90%, the other end fits into the throttle trigger.adw1_9.jpg

Motor will not start

For some reason the engine is flooded. To make it start do the following: turn the choke off, hold the throttle wide open and crank it until it starts.Do not push the primer bulb first. It already has more fuel than it can burn. It will smoke more than usual until it burns out the excess fuel. You may also have a carb problem but this should allow the engine to start so it can be diagnosed.
