I know that I don't mix oil with the gas, but does the engine mix the gas itself and if yes how often do I need to add more oil to the oil tank?
SOURCE: i do not know the
Craftsman engines typicallty run a 40:1 fuel ratio mix. That is 3.2oz./gal. I suggest synthetic oil It helps the engine to run cooler with less friction/stress. If you make the mix a little richer; say 3.5 to 4 oz./gall. it will assist the engine if it is tuned to the "lean" side (that is with more air/less fuel). The extra oil will not hurt or foul your spark plug.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TOUCH THE CARB!!! Put the right 2cycle fuel mix in with new spark plug and run it, it will gradually pick up R.P.M's as it cleans out. once you get it running hit your primer button while holding it wide open, this will cause it to bog down and possible stall then start it again and do this half dozen times, what it is doing is pulling your fresh gas through the carb, another way is start and hold throttle wide open and work your choke open/shut back and forth several times, You do not have to clean your carb, this is simple problem to fix by doing what I said, Happy Leaf Blowing ! 2StrokeJim

If it is a 4 cycle blower, you do not mix oil with the fuel....It takes straight Gas. there is an oil cap to put engine oil in crankcase, this only usually takes 2,3,4 oz. of oil. Sounds like your Spark Plug probably fouled out from having oil mixed in your gas. I would recomend changing your Spark Plug and put some Fresh GAS only in the blower, dump the old stuff out !!! You should be on your way Blowing in No Time !
read the instructions on the 2 cycle container for your mix ratio I.E. 50:1 may equal 4oz oil to 1 gal gas etc
