You can open the Dell touchpad settings by opening the program located here:

C:\Program Files\DellTPad\DellTPad.exe

or open via control panel by going here:

Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Mouse and click on the image under 'Dell Touchpad'

Hope that helps,

For my compaq tablet tc4400, the right side of the touch pad has a column of horizontal lines that I believe HP calls the "scoll zone." The problem is for a right hander as myself, whenever my...

Go to control panel -> Mouse -> "Device Settings" tab (has the synaptics logo to the left of it) -> Select your touchpad -> "Settings" -> expand "Scrolling" -> "One-finger Scrolling" -> uncheck "Enable Vertical Scrolling" and also uncheck "Enable horizontal scrolling"

If you don't have "Device settings" in the mouse setting window, then you need to install the drivers from http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers

How do i use my touch pad to work horizontally or vertically

To enable the touchpad scroll features, you you have to install the touchpad driver. The basic touchpad features work without the driver installed but the scrolling requires it.

Not working for my vertical scroll zone howcan activate this problem

Hi,

Assuming you're talking about the touchpad, this can be enabled and disabled in your control panel.

Open your start menu, then Control panel, if it's not in classic mode click the Classic View link in the top-left corner. Now open the mouse icon and select the Device settings tab(red logo), now click the settings select by single clicking the synaptics touch pad from the list. click the settings button below the list and select the "Virtual Scrolling" section.

You will see two check boxes, the First enables the marked off vertical scrolling feature, the second enables a horizontal scrolling feature that may not be marked on the mousepad but runs along the bottom of the pad and works the same way.

Click OK, on both windows and close the comtrol panel.

Hope this helps FixYa, if not reply back with any additional info you can,

Chris
