Most of the time when fuel is coming from the primer bulb, either the bulb is cracked or the float in the carb is not shutting off the gas properly.
Check condition of bulb and replace it if necessary. Be sure you clear the pathway for the fuel by either spraying carb cleaner under the gasket or if your primer bulb has a hole, stick the tiny red tube right in there and spray. However, my bet is on the float in the carb failing to properly seat the needle, causing the carb to flood and the primer bulb area just happens to be where it exits.

SOURCE: Leaks fuel when the primer button is pushed

Either the primer bulb is split, or one of the fuel hoses are split, remove the top cover, depress the the bulb and watch where the fuel is escaping.

Have a TrimmacTM 210 Strimmer with a carb fuel supply issue. The primer bulb will not suck fuel through to the carb.

Since there's quite a bit of engineering behind a primer here's a video to help you better understand the components and how they work so you can better isolate where your issue lies. Good luck!

Carburetor leaks fuel in the combustion chamber and out through the area of the throttle plate into the air filter. This happened after I had to replace the fuel lines .

This is not as easy as it appears!
The image below is the proper routing for the fuel lines from the tank through the primer and carburetor.

It is so easy to assemble this backwards and pump unfiltered fuel through the carburetor. Or Assemble it so that the primer pushes fuel into the carburetor.

The primer pulls the fuel through the filter located in the tank up the inlet hose into the carburetor internal fuel pump filling up the carburetor and purging out any air. The output of the primer returns any excess fuel back into the tank via the return hose.

26117870-p2kvwqjbo3oi50ps2xua1eg1-2-0.gif The center connection at the primer bulb is the output return to the tank and the off center connection at the primer bulb is the inlet from the carburetor.

26117870-p2kvwqjbo3oi50ps2xua1eg1-2-2.png If it is correct you need to perform a leak check on the fuel system. Reach into the tank and retrieve the fuel filter attached to the hose. Carefully remove the filter from the hose and with your finger over the end of the hose pump the primer. You should hold a vacuum. If the primer will not stay down air is leaking into the fuel system. Any air will disable the engine from running. The carburetor needs to be air free to function.

If air is not leaking from a hose connection and is internal to the carburetor it is likely that contamination has logged either in the needle valve or check valve.
Below is the check valve that prevents air from entering the fuel passages from the fuel jets when you prime/purge the carburetor with the primer bulb.
26117870-p2kvwqjbo3oi50ps2xua1eg1-2-5.jpg

If the carburetor is filling with fuel when you prime it is likely that the the primer is pushing (incorrect hose routing) the fuel into the carburetor through the impulse pump and through this check valve. Correct pluming and try again.

The needle valve is located under the four screws under the diaphragm and is actuated by the diaphragm.

Cleaning the check valve is almost impossible. Most have a rubber washer that can easily be moved out of place from the use of excessive air pressure. The claim is that the check valve can be replaced. I've never been successful and ended up replacing the carburetor. Messing with the needle and diaphragm has not always resulted Joy either. You can leak check the needle valve by plugging the inlet hose and pull the fuel out the primer bulb connection using the primer bulb. Cleaning the carburetor with the small holes and blind fuel passages can create a problem by plugging the tiny fuel feed holes you are trying to clean.. In the newer machine the adjustment screws are not removable preventing the cleaning of the needle clearances. This is a bumpy road well traveled by many!!
Hope this has been a help?

My prime bulb looses pressure and first start is hard. I have to remove fuel line from filter and cover with thumb prime re install then first start takes time.

Does the engine run fine after it starts? Most common problem with primer bulb losing prime is an air leak in the fuel line or primer bulb. Air leaks don't always leak fuel. If there is an air leak between the primer bulb and gas tank there is no pressure, only vacuum. If it is not a major leak it might not leak without pressure but it will allow air to enter the fuel line. If it is a very minor air leak it could allow air to replace the liquid in the fuel line over time, but so little air once it is primer again that the fuel pump can over come it with volume of fuel.

Primer bulbs do not stay firm, as they are when initially pumped up, after the engine is running. There are check valves in the primer bulb that hold pressure in the primer bulb and throughout the fuel line to the engine. Once the engine starts the fuel pump creates vacuum drawing fuel into the engine diminishing this pressure and releasing the check valves. At this point the primer bulb is just another segment of fuel hose allowing fuel to pass through it as the fuel pump demands. The primer bulb functions much better when the outlet side is higher than the inlet side. This position makes it easier for the check valves in the primer bulb to seat and release as needed. If the primer bulb is functioning properly and is positioned with the outlet side higher than the inlet it should not be necessary to cover the end of the fuel hose with your thumb to get it to prime.

If the engine is hard to start after being fully primed there could be a problem with the fuel system on the engine. Some engines are hard to prime once air has entered the system, especially fuel injected models.

My chain saw 14" homelite

primers pull fuel from the carb and dumps it back into the tank, so if the bulb will not prime the chances are the fuel filter in the tank is blocked, pull the fuel hose through the filer hole and replace the filter on the end.

Check the fuel lines, you may have an air leak that requires new lines and a new filter.

My Poulan P3314 primer won't take in fuel or push it out.

the vinyl primer button on your carb shoots fuel into the crankshaft space. when you pull the rewind air and fuel in the crankshaft area is sucked into the combustion chamber. when the magneto reaches almost top dead center, the high voltage fires the spark plug. if there is an air leak in the gasket that surrounds the crankshaft, the air/fuel mixture will be way off. flooding will occur and the plug will get saturated. remove the whole back of your engine and clean the mating surfaces. now use high temp permatex and run a bead all around the gasket surface. tighten all the bolts - screws. push the primer button twice and try starting the engine.
