Westinghouse Model: LD-4680 Similar (LD4655VX LD4255VX ...Samsung LCD TV Repair - TV Won't Turn On - How to Replace Power Supply ...
This model TV is known for having power supply problems. The only way to be positive of the problem is to check the components to verify what is out of specs. Replacing parts that are not known to be defective can get expensive and may not result in a working TV. The safety circuitry is shutting the TV down when it detects a problem. Often this is caused by capacitors going bad. Looking for bulging and leaking capacitors and replacing any found can often result in a working TV.
No quick fixes. A component such as a capacitor is heating up and failing. Sometimes a cracked solder connection will work fine until it heats up and no longer sustains the connection.
When the screen goes off, shine a very bright flashlight at the screen to see if the image is still there. In many cases, the problem is the screen backlight, which consists of several CCFL tubes (fluorescent lamps) and a circuit board called the inverter (similar to a lamp ballast).
If the image is there, but the backlight is off, then you just may need a new inverter board.
It's posible your TV when into protection mode to prevent further parts from being damaged. This normally happens when a single parts goes bad inside your TV.
You may have to take it to a repair shop.
I had the same problem with my two LCM-19W4 monitors. Both failed within two months of each other. Radio Shack stocks 220uF 35V capacitors that work fine for this. You have to pay $1.49 ea though.
Have you tried unplugging overnight? Sometimes mine gets screen garbage and that clears it up. Of course, now it says "Auto Scan Required" every time I power up. Maybe I should've grabbed that after Xmas 32" at Fry's for $400.
