SOURCE: my homelite weed eater sx-135 the fuel filter broke of the tube

The longest, and sometimes smaller in diameter, fuel line goes from the carb. to the bottom of the tank. It should rest comfortably on the bottom of the tank. The other line should go from the primer bulb to just inside the gas tank, (about an inch).
HINT: Cut the fuel lines at an angle before inserting them into the gas tank. This will allow you to get them in much easier.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

SOURCE: gas weed eater pull cord wont retract after pulling cord

remove the cover and the screw holding the recoil down, turning the pulley ccw should release the spring then wind rope around pulley and (hopefully yours has the slot in it) wind in the direction of the pulley teeth then, holding rope in slot put back on spring and wind cw till almost tight, and install screw. Usually you can do this without taking rope handle off. sometimes you have to remove handle. look at spring end in the middle and make sure its not broke as long as you have it apart. Its a easy fix.
Thanks for using fixya

SOURCE: I have never been able to start my homelite mighty

First thing is to remove and clean the spark plug...remove carbon deposits or gummy residue (a shot or two of carb cleaner should do it !!). Check the gap on your plug to see if it is somewhere between .025 to .030 (if you have your manual it should tell you the proper gap space...if not google and they should be able to give you the answer). Next re-attach plug to plug wire and place the plug base touching the cylinder head...pull start handle and see if you get a blue spark...if not then you've got a faulty magneto or a bad plug...if you have spark, open the throttle and pour about a teaspoonful of FRESH fuel mixture into the throat of the carburetor. Hold throttle open and pull start handle a few times...the engine should start and run for a few seconds...if it does then the problem lies in the fuel system. Check fuel filter inside tank...check fuel cap vent to make sure it is not clogged...check fuel lines (may be gunked up or de-composed) squeeze primer bulb to be sure gas is reaching carburetor and to make sure it has no holes or tears. Put fresh fuel in tank, choke set to full, and try to start...may take a number of pulls of the start handle...if it starts, you're probably OK, you may just have to re-adjust your carb a little...if not the problem is probably a trashed up or gummy carburetor...(you will have to clean it or rebuild it). good luck !!! ;-D

My Ryobi weed eater the head of the weed eater is hard to turn and the engine doesn't want to turn it

problem most likely is that the cable drive for the head is twisted up inside the tube and jamming the operation
you have 2 options
remove the head from the tube and pull the cable out or
remove the tube from the power head and pull the cable out that way
new cables are available from your local mower shop
if the cable guides inside the tube are damaged , consider replacing the bent tube with a straight tube , then you can use more attachments for the head

Accelerator/Throttle stuck

most cable outer cases are made up of a spring section so if you bend it there are gaps that open to show the inner cable
CRC or wd-40 are quick fixes but will disperse with time and rain
However if you use lithium grease (CRC product)or spray silicon ans spray along that outer case as you flex it there is every possibility that the problem will be solved There is the possibility that if the machine has seen a lot of use in the accelerator so ot is possible that a groove has worn inside the outer case and that is causing the problem
IT that happens to be the case , get a new cable and before fitting it , if the inner cable can be pulled out , spray the lithium grease down the inside of the outer case and then put the inner cable back in it

I have 88 s10 i changed speedometer an still bounces after i put a new cable in it

Did you change only the inner cable ? if so the outer cable housing may be damaged causing the inner cable to bind up , letting go then causing the cable to whip and sending the pointer hah wire. If the cable is free and no sharp bends the fault is in the speedometer head.

This could be a number of things. Clogged air filter/fuel filter/carburetor/fuel tank lid breather hole, cracked fuel line or primer bulb, or clogged spark arrestor in muffler. Here's some links that will help to change the bulb, fuel cap, fuel lines, rebuild carb, replace spark arrestor, and troubleshoot.
