SOURCE: transfer belt errors
helped me and solved the lever and transfer belt. Actually it is the combined black toner cartridge and transfer belt. The side plate is about 3 inches long and has the two screws fixing it on. The sensor has a single screw fixing it, but in fact just looks like a black cover plate. Lever it out easilly at the screw end, not the other end which is impossible.
I just blew out the **** in the sensor, wiggled the white 3 pin connector, and since it has the look of a reflection based optical sensor, then I cleaned the belt along its edge with antistatic cleaner , ie tissue paper soaked and rotate the gear to move the belt round. There is a silver patch on the belt which passes the sensor once every revolution of the belt, and I gave this a particularly good clean as it is probably the only bit that matters.
Anyway, several black refills (hole and a bit of tape sealing it) later and the unit still works fine. Actually I always refill everything and just high pressure blow off the whole printer every so ofter.
SOURCE: Lexmark X83 "Unlock Scanner" error
I had the same problem and the solution is this: There is a red lever switch by the power chord on the scanner/printer. Above this red lever switch is the drawing of a lock in the "locked" position and at the bottom this red lever switch is the drawing of a lock in the "opened (unlock)" position. The lever on the red switch should point to the "opened" lock symbol (unlock). It the switch lever is pointing to the "locked" position of the lock symbol, flip it to the "opened" position and recycle power on the scanner by removing the power chord for a 30 seconds. If the lever is pointing to the "unlock" lock symbol, flip it to the "locked" position and then back to the "unlocked" position and recycle power. Good luck!

Hi
C0F36 error means abnormally low toner density detected Black ATDC Sensor. Check for the black toner and try reinstalling the cartridge if replaced already. And if the toner crtridges are empty then replace the cartridge.
Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.
Thanks

try checking the scanner cable . look through the glass back right . you will see a usb cable.. check both ends.. if there connected properly and you still get the error.. you need to replace the whole scanner unit
