HTC TyTn II displays "No Service" message;Contacts/Calendar gone

After low battery closed the phone down last night, this morning my HTC TyTn II displays "No Service" message; also the Contacts and Calendar are not accessible (Favorite Contacts also gone). Will not allow Active Sync anymore and cannot even access phone touch pad to dial out. However, Internet Explorer still works as does the Send/Receive function on email accounts. Anybody know how I can recover the Contact/Calendar features as well as the ability to make calls? Vodafone said may need to do Hard Reset but I don't want to give up on recovering data.

HTC TyTn II data connection problem

It keeps connecting because an application keeps wanting to access the internet.

Make sure you set your email to manually download messages.
Turn the Weather Tab off in HTC Home Screen as it automatically downloads the weather.
Turn off "QuckGPS"
Disable Error Reporting to Microsoft in the System settings

Also remember MMS messages will require internet connection.
Everytime you send a MMS or receive a MMS your phone will connect to the internet.
